Maria Bakalova, Peter Mullan To Star In Brian Kelly’s ‘No Way Off’, Altitude Boards For International – AFM
Academy Award nominee Maria Bakalova (The Apprentice, Borat Subsequent Film Moviefilm) and multi award-winning screen veteran Peter Mullan (Children Of Mem, War Horse, My Name Is Joe) are set to star in No Way Offa thriller about a young mother trapped on a bus with her baby after being abducted by its sinister driver.
Altitude will be seeking international partners to join the ride as they introduce the film at AFM this week in Las Vegas.
Written by Gaby Hull (Cheat, Two Weeks To Live, We Hunt Together)the film will be helmed by award-winning director, Brian Kelly (Downton Abbey, Dracula, Outlander) and produced by Matthew James Wilkinson (Yesterday, Daddy’s Head, Amulet) for his Stigma Films banner. No Way Off has its cinematic roots in Spielberg’s Duel, Panic Room and single-location thrillers such as The Shallows, Buried and Crawlthe announcement said.
“My dreams have come true. No Way Off has a brilliant cast and a killer script, I can’t wait to enjoy the ride,” said Kelly.
Bakalova is represented by CAA, Brookside Artist Management, Insight Management & Production and Yorn, Levine, Barnes, Krintzman. Mullan is repped by Markham, Froggatt & Irwin.
Producer Matthew James Wilkinson launched Stigma Films in 2012, having previously worked as a Development Executive at Working Title Films. The company has produced 17 features with partners from Netflix to Sky, Shudder, Entertainment, IFC and more, and among others has developed projects with Curzon, BFI, Creative England and Altitude.
