Manpower Representatives continue to discuss the draft labor law submitted by the government

The Manpower Committee of the House of Representatives, during its meeting this evening, Tuesday, headed by Representative Adel Abdel Fadil Ayyad, continued to discuss the draft labor law submitted by the government.

The meeting discussed the section related to employment policies and the employment of workers at home and abroad. The draft law prohibits receiving sums from the worker in exchange for placing him in work at home and abroad, and also prohibits the employer from employing workers through a contractor or contractor supplying workers.

 

The representative said Adel Abdel Fadil Ayyad, Chairman of the Manpower Committee, said that the committee aims to include a draft law setting controls for conducting worker employment operations and the process of enrolling the worker to work at home and abroad, indicating that the draft law achieves a balance between the rights of the worker and the rights of the employer.

 

The draft law stipulates in the section on employment policies that a higher council be established for planning and operating the workforce at home and abroad, and is responsible for drawing up the general policy for employing workers at home and abroad, and establishing the systems, rules, and procedures necessary for employment based on the needs of the workforce. Labor markets at home and abroad.

 

Discussions of the Manpower Committee stopped during its meeting this evening at Article 48, with the discussion of the remaining articles of the draft labor law continuing in its upcoming meetings.

 

The meeting of the Manpower Committee was attended by representatives of the legislative sector of the Ministry of Justice, the Central Agency for Organization and Administration, and the legal advisor to the Minister of Labor, Ihab Abdel-Ati, as well as representatives of the business sector ministries,  Health, Finance, Solidarity, and the National Social Insurance Authority.
