A string of Sydney beaches have been shut down after marble-sized grey balls washed up on the sand.
Manly, Dee Why, Long Reef, Queenscliff, Freshwater, North and South Curl Curl, North Steyne and North Narrabeen beaches have been closed.
It comes after seven beaches including Bondi, Coogee and Maroubra in the city’s east were closed in October when dozens of black tar-like balls washed up.
Tests found the balls were likely made of medications, human faeces, drugs and chemicals but experts were unable to pinpoint the source of the pollution.
