Man United sit-in causes carnage at Old Trafford as new video shows fans and stewards embroiled in heated clash during fiery anti-Glazer protest

Footage has emerged of trouble between fans and stewards during Manchester United fans’ sit-in protest after Sunday’s Manchester derby clash.
Man United and Man City played out a drab 0-0 draw that failed to offer much to entertain either club’s fans, with the former still down in 13th and the latter unable to move into the top four.
It came at a time with neither side in particularly good form, which was evidenced by the lack of real quality on the pitch at Old Trafford.
United fans had already planned a sit-in protest at Old Trafford for the game, and duly made their anti-Glazer views known.
The last Old Trafford sit-in was in August 2023, when thousands of fans stayed behind following a comeback win against Nottingham Forest.
Yet a recording of the protest has since emerged on Tuesday, which appears to show a confrontation between fans and stewards.

Stewards were seen clashing with a fan in the stands during their anti-Glazer protest
The clip shows fans watched attentively by stewards while singing anti-Glazer chants, with little interaction other than a few terse words.
On numerous occasions the stewards appear to ask why the cameraman is filming them, to which the person with the camera responds: ‘I’m recording you, that’s for [another fan], for his safety, not yours. That’s for him.’
However after a few minutes, one fan is seemingly pushed by a steward and restrained by a number of attendants, one of whom appears to have their arm around the man’s neck.
‘Hey, there we go,’ says the fan with the camera. ‘That was f***ing bang out of order. F***ing ****.
‘No need in that. It’s all on f***ing tape. It’s just protesting, it’s a sit-in innit, against the Glazers. That’s why I had it recording the whole time.
‘We’re just trying to f***ing protest. It’s just a protest!’
The fan is released a few seconds later, before appearing to ask whether the altercation was caught on camera and making their way down the tunnel.
While they are going, one attendant appears to be sending words in the fan’s direction, though they are not clearly picked up by the footage.
Thereafter, the protest seemingly runs its course with little concern according to the video footage, as chants continue around the ground.
