Man United fans slam injured star Luke Shaw for ’embarrassing’ TikTok dance with Molly-Mae Hague with the Premier League giants ‘fighting relegation’

Manchester United supporters have slammed injured star Luke Shaw for featuring in a TikTok with Molly-Mae Hague with the club struggling in the Premier League.

Shaw and his wife Anouska partied with Love Island star Hague at a lavish bash on New Year’s Eve.

The England international was featured in a TikTok video, with Shaw seen mouthing ‘Your mum’s on benefits’ as part of a trend.

Some Man United fans criticised Shaw on social media, labelling his appearance in the clip as ’embarrassing’ while highlighting the club’s current struggles.

The Red Devils are currently languishing in 14th in the Premier League after a run of four consecutive defeats.

Shaw has been restricted to just 68 minutes of top flight action this season, with the left back having endured an injury hit 2024.

‘Manchester United in the worst form of my lifetime and Luke Shaw is doing TikTok’s with Molly Mae,’ one fan wrote.

Another said: ‘Luke Shaw doing TikTok’s with Molly Mae, he would never play again if Fergie was still in charge. Embarrassing club?!’

‘There has to be a sense of professionalism. This player in particular has been unavailable for the equivalent of four years whilst making £150,000pw. We are 14th,’ a third wrote.

‘This is not acceptable of any Manchester United player especially one whose contributions minimal.

Another fan wrote: ‘Scrolling on tiktok and I can’t believe whose just told my that my mum is on benefits whilst my club is fighting relegation omds my head is hot.’

Other fans, however, came to Shaw’s defence as they insisted the star should be allowed to have a social life away from the game.

‘Yes, I forgot when someone is having a horrible time at work they’re not allowed to go out and celebrate New Years or have a social life,’ one fan defended Shaw.

‘Fans are so toxic its embarrassing! Yes a player allowed to have some fun and banter over new years with his friends and his family, get over it.’

Shaw last month shared an emotional statement on social media after confirming he had suffered a ‘small setback’.

‘Hi guys, it’s hurting a lot having to write this as I really thought I had got through my recent struggles and was on a positive path going forward, but unfortunately I’ve had a small setback,’ Shaw wrote.

‘I’ve been through a lot and had a lot of ups and downs but this has definitely been my toughest period.

‘I’m absolutely devastated and it’s extremely tough to come to terms with reality at this moment in time.

‘I understand there is gunna be people frustrated, angry, disappointed and I understand all that. There is no one feeling that more than me at this moment in time.

‘But what I can promise is I will do everything I can to come back better soon to help this club achieve its ambitions this season.

‘Thank you to everyone for the support. It really doesn’t go unnoticed and I really do appreciate it.’

Injuries restricted Shaw to just eight Man United appearances in 2024, while he played three times for England at Euro 2024.

Man United will hope to address their poor run of form when they face Liverpool this weekend.

The Red Devils head into the match against the Premier League leaders just seven points above the relegation zone.
