The race for the Champions League is just so tight, isn’t it?
I have seen so many people moaning about how little there is to play for at this stage of the season compared to normal. And I mean, I see why so many are annoyed.
The Premier League title is all but wrapped up, while two of the bottom three have already been relegated, with Ipswich to follow suit.
Yes, it makes this season a little more boring, but there is one battle that everybody is locked in for, and that’s the scrap to make it into the top five.
Only three points separate Nottingham Forest in third and Aston Villa in seventh. It is box office stuff and I am loving the drama.
Tonight, it’s taken up a notch as Villa travel to fifth-placed Manchester City in a vital match in the race to secure a spot in European football’s premier competition next term.
It’s a real six-pointer. Both sides will be desperate to win.
With so much at stake and both teams in scintillating form, I am just itching for that first whistle. I just wish we could press the fast-forward button on life and skip to kick-off.
But we can’t, and that would be me missing out on a lot of the fun, which is building up the excitement for all of you guys.
With that being said, let’s get this show on the road.
