Police are investigating reports of explosions in an office block and a fire that led to the evacuation of another office building on the same street.
At about 2.20pm on Thursday emergency services were called to an office building on Donnison Street, Gosford on the NSW Central Coast, following reports of several explosions.
The building was evacuated and no injuries were reported as a result of the explosions.
A short time later, police were called to a separate office building on Donnison Street following reports of a fire and of smoke coming out of the third floor.
Police were told a man entered the office before allegedly lighting a fire and fleeing the scene.
A 54-year-old employee was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for smoke inhalation.
Fire and Rescue NSW said the building’s fire alarm had been activated and a number of triple-0 calls were received.
No other injuries were reported.
Police remain on scene and are investigating the incident.
Donnison Street remains closed in several sections near Dane Drive, Mann Street, and Baker Street, with motorists and the community urged to avoid the area.
Police wish to speak with a man seen in the area at the time of the incident.
He is described as being aged in his 60s, of short stature, chubby build, wearing an all-black face covering, a black t-shirt, dark pants and shoes, and a dark cap.
