Former Married At First Sight (MAFS) brides Selina Chhaur and Tahnee Cook have spilled a mammoth amount of tea regarding reality TV contracts, if MAFS producers know couples dated each other and the ridiculous amount of rogue posts from this year’s cast.
Another year, another MAFS podcast has spawned out of the ether, but lucky for us, it’s hosted by two icons: Tahnee Cook and Selina Chhaur.
For folks who need a refresher, Selina was a bride in season nine and was matched with Cody Bromley, and Tahnee was in season 10 and was matched with Ollie Skelton.
Unfortunately for both brides, their MAFS marriages did not last beyond the ouch couch.
But now, the dynamic duo have teamed up for a new poddy, Back To Reality, and their debut show was jam-packed with behind the scenes gossip.
So, to decipher all your burning questions about MAFS — as well as the shitshow of MAFS 2025 — here’s what Tahnee and Selina dished on Back To Reality.
What’s in the Married At First Sight contract?
The topic of the big, scary MAFS contract was brought up between the girlies after they pointed out how many viewers and castmates complained about “the edit”.
During the chat, the co-hosts name-dropped TikToker and lawyer Jahan Kalantar who recently made a video on why folks shouldn’t sign up for MAFS due to its contract.
Tahnee then revealed that she got a lawyer to look at her contract whereas Selina chose to read it on her own, as for Shoey King Al Perkins, the groom chose to sign the MAFS contract without reading it.
Reflecting on the way they handled their MAFS contracts, Tahnee revealed a page everyone MUST read before signing up for the show.
“There is one page you want to read and that page is like, you’ve got your name on the contract, then it’s like, first page, bold, boxed up. And it’s basically like, what you’re signing your life for. And I think back, and I’m like, why did we sign that?” Tahnee replied before Selina revealed she was “so naive” when it came to signing up for the show.
“I just wanted love so badly and to be loved that I was like, surely they could see the desperation and match me with someone genuine, at least,” Selina shared.
“The contract is 37 pages long. Like it’s long.”
While the pair didn’t get into the nitty gritty bits of the contract, Tahnee said there should’ve been an option for castmates to withdraw their consent at any time.
“I do want to preface though I do think, although a hectic contract, I think you should be able to withdraw consent anytime, in any situation, in any scenario. That’s my personal opinion. And obviously, in this case, you can’t do that,” Tahnee shared.
“I think the general thing is that you can’t control how you look, and you might not be shown in a positive light, which is, I think most people that go on MAFS. I feel like the chances of you looking not like an idiot is so much slimmer than looking positive. I think positive is the key word there. And I feel like we can comment on this, and we are able to share our honest opinions in regards to that.”
Married At First Sight producers knew some of the couples in 2025 previously dated
Sorry, quick spoiler alert, but on this year’s season MAFS, two couples who’ve been matched dated in real life before appearing in the experiment.
Our exes turned newlyweds include Carina Mirabile and Paul Antione, and Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels.
While the experts and MAFS producers have previously stressed that they didn’t know about their dating histories, Tahnee said she “did not buy it at all”.
“I remember, and I don’t know if you had this experience, but I remember vividly having a Zoom call with a producer, and I had to literally list names of people I dated in the last year, people that I went on dates with,” Tahnee dished.
“They wanted to know names. Anyone that I thought would. It was even, who do you think is gonna ruin your life? Who’s gonna drop tea on you? And I had to, I gave names.”
Tahnee admitted that she “did not buy” Rhi and Jeff’s reactions at their wedding, pointing out that Jeff was previously an actor on Neighbours.
Selina also noted that “producers stalk” castmates’ Instagram and that Rhi and Jeff were previously liking each other’s posts before they appeared on MAFS.
Interesting… if I sign up, can they put me and my situationship together, please????? I’m kidding!!! Maybe… IDK.
Married At First Sight 2025 castmates going rogue on Instagram
ICYMI, both Jacqueline Burfoot and Morena Farina have gone absolutely ROGUE on Instagram in recent days, venting out their frustrations with “the edit” and spoiling their endings on the show.
Reflecting on their very explosive social media moves, Selina and Tahnee shared that they had access to nothing during their time on the show.
“You literally don’t have access,” Tahnee dished.
“But that’s freaking frustrating thing about this cast, because they have gone rogue. Half of them haven’t even handed their Instagrams over! And I’m like, that’s not fucking fair,” Selina added.
Tahnee went on to share that in the big ‘ol contract, there’s a section about social media which you can opt to sign or just leave, but Selina says it wasn’t an option for her.
“I feel like your hands a bit forced personally, but you actually, if you don’t want to do it, you don’t have to. They can’t force you,” Tahnee shared.
“We weren’t even given an option!” Selina replied.
All this tea surrounding the contract gives me the heebie-jeebies, but in the case that I might be matched with my favourite situationship, I will take screenshots of the contract and will spill more details here!
