Married At First Sight (MAFS) bride Jacqui Burfoot has never held back from sharing her opinions. But now, after commenting on the break-up of former MAFS stars Tori Adams and Jack Dunkley, she’s pissed off a whole host of former contestants.
On Sunday night, Jacqui took to her Instagram Stories on her business account @jacquelineleejewellery (the one not managed by Channel Nine) to answer some questions from her followers.
“What do you think about Jack and Tori breaking up?” asked one follower.
“I never liked Jack so very glad!” Jacqui responded.
“I think she deserves more than him — he behaved so misogynistic [sic] on the show and I didn’t like him.”
This question was quickly picked up by MAFS gossip Instagram account @mafsuncensored. Moments after it was posted, comments from season 11 MAFS stars started rolling in.
“Isn’t she the one saying it’s an edit and not to believe it?” commented Eden Harper.
“But then the next minute she wants to pretend like it’s a documentary,” chimed MAFS season 10’s Harrison Boon.
“Her hypocrisy gauge is faulty,” replied Jacqui’s on-screen match, Ryan Donnelly.

But it wasn’t until Tori decided to weigh in for herself that things really got interesting.
“Let me get you a megaphone girl!” she wrote in response to Eden’s comment.
In another comment, Tori tagged Jack and wrote, “get a load of this” with a bunch of laughing emojis.
“Oh dear lord, please don’t start taking dating advice from this one,” Jack responded.
Clearly, despite Jacqui’s opinions of Jack, Tori doesn’t agree, and the pair seem to be on pretty good terms.

Elsewhere in the comment section, Ryan received a little bit of sympathy from the former contestants, including Jack.

Jacqui’s comment about Tori and Jack’s relationship does bring up a few interesting points.
Previously, Jacqui claimed that she’s never watched MAFS before. However, it seems like she had a pretty good idea about what went down between Tori and Jack on the show, or at least caught wind of his misogynistic portrayal during his season.
Plus, as the cast members highlighted above, the biggest doozy is Jacqui’s contradiction between believing the edit and urging people to disregard it.
Throughout it all, Jacqui has claimed that the editors constantly change and manipulate storylines on the show, so it’s a bit strange that she would blindly accept Jack’s portrayal at face value, don’t you think?

While the former cast are calling Jacqui out for her wishy-washy opinions, former MAFS post producer and podcaster, Alexandria Funnell, claims that there’s a reason the cast are so outspoken about other people’s behaviour on the show.
“The cast always come out and say ‘it’s the edit, it’s the edit’ but then they’re always the first people to get on their socials and get angry at someone on the show because they know it’s close to the truth of what does happen,” She told PEDESTRIAN.TV.
“If it’s so fake — as they love to say, it’s all fake, it’s not real — then why do they all still watch it and get worked up and have opinions on certain behaviours?
“It’s not a documentary, it’s a heightened version of reality. But it’s not fiction or scripted, it’s just a condensed, amplified, clarified version of events.”

Although we’re yet to see what goes down between Jacqui and Ryan during their final vows, rumour has it that Jacqui is set to deliver one of the most “savage” final vow moments in MAFS history.
According to Ryan, he simply laughed it off and left.
“Obvious spoiler: Jacqui was a bitch at final vows, I laughed, then I left. Yay,” he wrote in an Instagram Story.
Big yikes all round!!!!
If you’re a drama-lover like me, you can see Jacqui and Ryan’s dumpster fire unfold on Married At First Sight tonight on Nine or 9Now.
