Newly engaged Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 couple Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice have revealed the reason why they hung up on Nova 96.9’s Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie mid-interview.
It’s no secret that polarising MAFS 2025 bride, Jacqui Burfoot, has had a few rough radio interviews in the lead up to the season’s end. A couple of weeks ago, the former lawyer was dumped mid-interview by Fox 101.9’s Fifi, Fev and Nick.
On Tuesday morning — right after the final episode of MAFS for 2025 aired — Jacqui and her fiancé Clint brutally hung up on Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie in the middle of an interview.
Reflecting on the decision to nix the interview mid-way through, Jacqui and Clint told PEDESTRIAN.TV said they have “zero tolerance strategy” when it comes to dealing with “negative” comments regarding them or how they appeared on the show.
“We went on radio and we they promised us a positive outlook and talk about our future, which is our love story and hen twice, they went down a negative path,” Clint dished.
“The third time was like, ‘Guys, we’re out. We’re gonna hang up on you move on’.
“We’ve given you opportunity here.”
Fresh off the heels of the Finals Reunion, Jacqui and Clint hopped on Nova 96.9 to chat all things MAFS and their engagement. However, things went haywire quickly.
The interview kicked off with a general question about Jacqui and Clint’s relationship before the hosts struck with the first question that set the pair off.
“Jacqui, can I hold you up there? Because Clint wasn’t the first one that you approached on the show. You’re obviously married to Ryan [Donnelly], but you did approach Jeff [Gobbels] and asked if you could catch up with Jeff, which got Rhi [Disljenkovic] really upset. Then you offered,” Fitzy asked before he was interrupted by the 2025 bride.
“I’ll just stop you there…We came on this to speak about our engagement and happy times, and we were getting a lot of backlash, and we’re not in a position to talk about the show right now. We’re trying to leave that in the past, and we’d love to just move on,” she responded.
Fitzy continued to push the couple to answer questions, specifically ones surrounding Ryan — Jacqui’s MAFS ‘husband’ — to which Clint warned that they didn’t want to go “down this path”.
“Guys if it’s going down this path we are going to head off,” he told the hosts.

The pair officially chucked their deuces up when Fitzy asked a question regarding Jacqui’s brutal Final Vows, with Clint describing this remark as the show’s “third strike”.
“You there Jacqui?” Fitzy asked.
“Nup..they’ve hung up,” Wippa shared.
Prior to this kerfuffle, Jacqui was briefly dumped from Fifi, Fev and Nick after dropping a cheeky F-bomb in the middle of her tea spill.
Honestly, with the run Jacqui had on MAFS 2025, I wouldn’t be surprised if the media continues to ask her about Ryan. After all they were definitely the most talked about couple for many, many, MAAAAAANNNNY reasons. And as someone who wrote reaction articles to every single episode, I can attest to that statement.
