Family and Friends week is here on Married At First Sight (MAFS) and you’d think it’d be easy to play nice for the cameras over some burgers and fries, right? Right??? Uhhh… not for the drama-filled cast of MAFS, it seems.
I’m gonna discuss tonight’s episode, so this is your official spoiler warning before we get into it.
Seriously! Run away if you don’t want to see any Married At First Sight spoilers.
First up, we’ve got our intruder couples moving into the Skye Suites apartment. They’re going to be doing a crash course to catch up to the other couples, which includes the cooked photo ranking challenge. I smell drama on the horizon, and I can’t wait!
Loveable Billy Belcher officially left the experiment last night after a heartbreaking couch session with Sierah Swepstone, but he’s made a surprise appearance in tonight’s episode! He’s gifting Jamie Marinos and Dave Hand his pet fish.
Jamie is understandably concerned about the bad juju this is gonna bring to her relationship with Dave, but these two are so solid surely they can handle a few freaky fish!

Awhina Rutene and Adrian Araouzou are living in separate apartments, and I just want Awhina to escape this toxic relationship ASAP. She tried to yeet out of the experiment last night, but Adrian trapped her when he wrote Stay.
Adrian waltzes into Awhina’s apartment and somehow still refuses to apologise. He reckons they both have work to do, taking zero accountability. Apparently, he reckons Awhina should be ~grateful~ he wrote Stay. Hello?? She wrote Leave for a reason!

Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels’ family meet-and-greet goes off without a hitch. Rhi’s mum Cheryl, sister and cousin seem to approve of Jeff, and Jeff’s friends Lachlan and Cameron feel the same about Rhi. These two are super solid and it shows!
Ryan Donnelly and Jacqueline Burfoot are back on good terms again. God, it’s hard to keep up! For the friends and family meet up, Jacqui has invited her friend Anna over. Ryan has the support of Adam and Karla, his besties.

We hear about the time Ryan dropped Jacqui at the wedding for the 100000000th time, and Ryan brings up the fact that he told the other grooms that Jacqui was good at oral sex. While Jacqui’s friends weren’t pleased, somehow, the pair got out of this dinner party mostly unscathed.

The dinner party was kinda explosive last week, so Veronica Cloherty has reached out to Lauren Hall to get the tea on Eliot Donovan. And of course she comes bearing margaritas, after Eliot’s cooked comments.
“I feel so sorry for you, I feel like you can do a million times better… he’s just so full of shit,” Lauren tells Veronica.
“Eliot’s about as shallow as a pond in a desert,” Lauren tells producers. “She probably should run.” Yikes. I don’t know where Veronica can go from here!

It’s like we’ve transported back to week one, because our intruder couples now have to do the photo ranking task. First up, Clint Rice and Lauren.
Clint places his brides in this order from lowest to highest: Morena, Beth, Jamie, Jacqui, Veronica, Awhina, Rhi, Carina.
Lauren can’t help but make some sassy comments, and Jacqui catches some strays.
“I think [Jacqui] looks rough,” Lauren says. “I would even put Morena in front of Jacqui.”
So harsh! Wonder what Jacqui will think of this, considering she’s rumoured to be with Clint now?
Of course, Clint pops Lauren way up at the top, saying she’s the most beautiful of all.
Lauren instantly ranks Eliot at the bottom, calling him a “dirty stinky rat”. She then describes Ryan as a “thumb”, before ranking the rest in this order: Tony, Teejay, Adrian, Paul, Dave, Jeff and Clint at the top.
Veronica and Eliot do the task in completely different ways, with Eliot ranking the brides purely on attractiveness… which is what the task is? Veronica is kinda disgusted by this, because she brings personality into it.

Some cracks have started to show in Lauren and Clint’s relationship after they watch each other’s audition videos. Clint wants somebody who is active, loves hiking and doesn’t want to just watch Netflix all day. Turns out Lauren hates hiking and prefers to watch Netflix.
Lauren’s audition video is also, uh, really something. She’s looking for somebody rich who owns a few properties and can fund her trips to Europe.
“If I was matched with someone successful I would probably hate them,” she says. Well, at least she’s honest!
Lauren says she’s after a “protector and alpha”, and Clint isn’t exactly an alpha male. She doesn’t like that he gets a spray tan and shaves his chest, saying it makes him less masculine. It’s giving toxic!!!

We’re into the part of the episode that has my blood BOILING. Adrian and Awhina are meeting up with Awhina’s twin Cleo, along with Adrian’s friend Jess, plus his sisters Elita and Nikola.
The tension is bleeding through the screen, and Awhina is clearly overwhelmed by the whole situation. It’s turning into more of an interrogation of Awhina than a light family lunch.
Every time Awhina tries to get a point across about how Adrian hasn’t been supporting her through this experiment (which we’ve all seen), his friend and sister interrupt and accuse Awhina of being the bad guy. It’s horrible to watch.

“I’m overwhelmed right now,” Awhina says. “He has three more people backing him up and so I don’t know how to explain my point of view to them. Any time I address any real hurt, he will get on the defence and he will shut me down. It’s hard.”
After Adrian’s friend and sisters go off at Awhina, Cleo jumps in and is a serious bad bitch. She tells Awhina that Adrian and his family aren’t “good enough” to be in her life, causing the group to leave Cleo and Awhina alone.

Awhina tells Adrian to leave the apartment, so their relationship could finally be over. Hurray!
When one of Adrian’s sisters comes back to try and smooth things over, she’s pretty damn condescending. Awhina isn’t having any of it, and she sends her packing. Yessss girl!
“I am not gonna tolerate this kind of behaviour anymore,” Awhina spits. “Walk along. You are not worth it, trust me, you, your brother, no one.”
