Married At First Sight (MAFS) intruder bride Beth Kelly has dished on a “mic drop” comment from John Aiken that was cut from the final Commitment Ceremony for 2025. Honestly, this just proves that Nine needs to drop unedited versions of the seasons so we can experience all of the ~juicy~ drama.
ICYMI, Beth and her ‘husband’ Teejay Halkias are currently in the trenches after the intruder groom suddenly switched up on his MAFS bride. You see, from day dot, it appeared that Beth and Teejay had some kind of spark between them.
However, during Homestays Week, Teejay revealed that he didn’t know if he had built that emotional connection with Beth despite being physically intimate with her before the week had started.
Keep in mind, Teejay previously explained that he could only be physically intimate with someone if he had built some kind of emotional bond with the other person, so Beth thought that their relationship was heading into serious territory after they’d done the deed.
Unfortunately, despite Beth’s attempts to salvage the relationship, Teejay had seemingly checked out, writing ‘leave’ on his card at the final Commitment Ceremony.
Teejay’s brutal switch-up on Beth didn’t go unnoticed by the experts on Sunday night’s episode. While on the ouch couch, the former Big Brother Australia housemate was called out for giving his ‘wife’ “mixed signals”.
However, in a tea spill to Yahoo! Lifestyle, the Queensland bride revealed that MAFS zaddy John Aiken really ripped into her ‘husband’, but unfortunately it was cut from the final edit.
“John said to Teejay, ‘Beth’s never had a relationship before and her emotional intelligence outweighs yours massively’. I was like, ‘Ooh mic drop!’. That was amazing,” she revealed to the publication.
“He also said, ‘Beth is one of the most genuine contestants we’ve ever had on the show’. They were two really great things, they made me feel so good. I wish they played them last night, but sadly they didn’t. That was just a mic drop from John, I loved it.”

Beth also claimed that during this Commitment Ceremony, the experts were “a lot harder” on Teejay, but the episode’s final episode was “too gentle”.
“At the end of the day, you’ve got to have consequences for your behaviour. You can’t just expect to treat someone poorly and get away with it,” she adds.
When reflecting on her decision to write ‘stay’ on Sunday night’s episode, Beth said she “instantly regretted” her decision.
“I think in that moment it all just hit me. There were so many signs leading up to it that he wasn’t really interested and then the next day he’d completely switch and show me that he was interested. But obviously, writing ‘leave’ is a bold statement. You are saying you absolutely do not want to be with this person,” she dished to the publication.
Unfortunately, as much as we’d like to see another MAFS success story, I don’t think we will be getting one from these intruders.
But who knows, MAFS is obsessed with plot twists. Maybe they’ll come out as a couple in the future!
As Cady Heron said in Mean Girls, “The limit [for plot twists] does not exist.”
Married At First Sight returns tonight on Channel Nine and 9Now.
