Madbouly: We put the medical tourism file on the priority agenda

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stressed the economic importance represented by medical and hospital tourism in various countries of the world, which prompts us to benefit from the great growth witnessed by the medical tourism market, stressing that the state places this file on the priority agenda, in light of There is a general interest in working to increase the number of tourists coming to Egypt and diversifying the tourism product.

This came during the presidency of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, this Monday evening, at the meeting of the Supreme Committee For medical tourism; In the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development, Minister of Health and Population.

 

Madbouly said: “We have great opportunities to launch this file, and there are many assignments regarding it.” Under the supervision of the Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development, Minister of Health and Population, stressing that the government is fully prepared to support this important component in order to achieve the state’s goals in the tourism sector.

 

And he declared The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Counselor Muhammad Al-Homsani, said that the meeting addressed a number of topics related to the medical tourism file, including the challenges of preparing and launching the unified national strategy for medical tourism in Egypt. The electronic platform dedicated to this file, and other related topics, were also discussed.

 

During the meeting, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that health tourism in general is not just an economic sector, but rather an essential pillar for sustainable development, through the establishment of a national strategy that contributes to revitalizing this sector, attracting huge investments, strengthening the infrastructure, in addition to providing many job opportunities, which will benefit the national economy and the health of citizens.

 

In this context, the Deputy Chairman of the Council explained The Ministers for Human Development said that the technical secretariat of the Supreme Committee for Medical Tourism began preparing the unified national strategy, by addressing all parties related to health tourism in the country, to send its vision regarding the strategy for health tourism, as a number of visions were received in this regard, pointing out in At the same time, work is being done to develop a unified strategy through the Technical Secretariat, and workshops are being prepared with representatives of the private sector to take into account the challenges facing this sector during the development of the strategy.

 

Also during the meeting, the importance of developing the national strategy for health tourism was emphasized, in addition to preparing actual national statistics that reflect the numbers of beneficiaries of health tourism services in Egypt in all health facilities providing the service, which in turn reflects Egypt’s position globally compared to other countries, and represents an attraction factor for beneficiaries. Potential, run The national electronic platform that brings together stakeholders and unifies efforts in this regard, in addition to its importance in opening a field for providing medical tourism services from the public and private sectors, in a competitive atmosphere, along with facilitating the treatment of patients arriving from abroad, etc.

 

The meeting also witnessed a review of the electronic platform that was prepared regarding facilitating medical tourism procedures, and everything related to this file. The meeting also dealt with what is related to the medical tourism visa, and in this regard the meeting witnessed consensus among attendees. on Facilitating procedures for granting visas to patients arriving for treatment in Egypt, through booking through this platform, and an agreement will also be made with a number of government and private hospitals to register on this platform that will be promoted.
