Madbouly follows up the executive position of the Upper Egypt Development Authority projects

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly confirmed that the governorates of Upper Egypt receive great attention from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, based on the president’s assertion that Upper Egypt and its youth are at the top of the national action agenda at this stage that witnesses the start of rebuilding the modern Egyptian state in order to implement many… Of development and service projects for our children in these governorates in various fields, and providing job opportunities for our youth there.

This came during Madbouly’s meeting, this evening, Tuesday, with Major General Sherif Saleh, head of the Upper Egypt Development Authority; This is within the framework of following up on the executive position of the projects and efforts made to serve comprehensive development in the governorates of Upper Egypt during the last period.

 

The head of the Upper Egypt Development Authority indicated that, based on the assignments of the political leadership and the directives of the head of The Council of Ministers is implementing many projects in a large number of different sectors, based on the authority’s strategy based on a set of national goals for sustainable development, “the updated Egypt Vision 2030.” It aims to achieve quality of life, an integrated and sustainable ecosystem, and a diversified, competitive knowledge economy. It also works within the framework of the government’s work program to improve the standard of living of the Egyptian citizen, achieve economic development, and raise the efficiency of government performance. This is to achieve sustainable development for all governorates of Upper Egypt.

 

Saleh explained that three main directions have been identified for the work of the Upper Egypt Development Authority in accordance with its establishment law, which are: developing a plan to accelerate the comprehensive development of the governorates of Upper Egypt with the participation of its people, and implementing projects that achieve development returns and high rates of employment to improve the quality of life, in addition to attracting local and foreign investments, and providing infrastructure for projects in the regions. Targeted. 

 

The head of the Upper Egypt Development Authority confirmed that a set of strategic goals and development axes have been identified and are limited to the axes: social, industrial, agricultural, logistical, and environmental, pointing out: A number of 42 development projects have been implemented in all of these axes, with a total of 1.779 billion pounds, including the establishment of a commercial zone for the benefit of the Nubian people in Aswan, Wadi Karkar. South Upper Egypt region, and establishing and equipping 14 craft industrial complexes to serve the governorates of: Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, Qena, Sohag, Luxor, and Aswan, in addition to establishing a center for developing handicraft and heritage skills for the benefit of Beni Suef Governorate in the Wasta Center/Northern Upper Egypt region.< /p>

 

The date packing and packaging complex is also being developed and raised in New Valley – Central Upper Egypt, as well as the establishment of a complex For food industries in Wadi Karkar / Aswan – South Upper Egypt region, and establishing a carpentry workshop complex in the Arab Al-Awamer industrial zone in Assiut in order to provide decent job opportunities for the people of the governorate, raise employment levels and support development plans in the governorate, support small industries and preserve the carpentry craft, and the industrial axis also includes Implementing a project to develop and raise the efficiency of the compressed wood production plant in Sohag Governorate.

 

With regard to the agricultural axis, the head of the authority explained that work is underway To increase the agricultural area and cultivate strategic crops, including reclaiming and cultivating an area of ​​450 acres in Abu Tartur in the New Valley – Central Upper Egypt Region, in addition to establishing an agricultural greenhouse complex for the production of sugar cane seedlings in Kom Ombo / Aswan – South Upper Egypt Region; This is to work to increase the cultivated area of ​​sugarcane plants, and work is also being done to raise the efficiency and develop the integrated poultry project in the village of Al-Azab in Fayoum Governorate – North Upper Egypt region, and at the same time the efficiency and development of the poultry project in Al-Mutahara in Minya Governorate is being raised, and many other agricultural and poultry production projects. And livestock in Upper Egypt governorates.

 

The head of the authority also indicated that 5 projects are being implemented with a total cost of 190 million pounds. In the logistical axis, with regard to the South Upper Egypt development project in Aswan, and developing and raising the efficiency of the Al-Hawatam parking lot in Fayoum – North Upper Egypt region, in addition to implementing a project in the environmental axis with a total financial cost of 205 million pounds, which is the cultivation of jojoba plants using triple-treated wastewater in Hurghada.

 

The meeting also discussed the future vision for achieving the Authority’s objectives, by reviewing an overview of the projects being studied to increase the added value of the competitive advantages of the governorates. Upper Egypt.
