Madbouly discusses with the head of the largest Chinese tire manufacturing company the establishment of two projects in Egypt
Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly confirmed that the government attaches utmost importance to the car tire industry, as it is one of the most important strategic industries for the Egyptian market. Due to the increasing local demand for tire products, he stressed his welcome and support for all companies wishing to work in this important field, whether through pumping new investments or expanding their existing investments.
This came during the meeting held by the Chairman of the Council The ministers, this evening, at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, with Wang Jiejun, President of the China National Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd, the largest Chinese company specialized in the field of manufacturing heavy-duty vehicle tires. The meeting was also attended by a delegation from “Promiton Tire Egypt” Wholly owned by the China National Tire Company, the delegation included Omar Mohanna, President of “Promiton Tire Egypt,” and Yun Lian, Vice President of “Promiton Tire Company.”

Pointing out that the company already has an existing activity in the Egyptian market, where it manufactures tires for heavy transport vehicles, while the Chinese company seeks to make further expansions in Egypt during the coming period.
< p>The Prime Minister added that “Promiton Tire Egypt” Wholly owned by the Chinese National Tire Company, it owns a factory in Amreya, Alexandria Governorate, to produce tires for heavy transport vehicles. The production capacity of this factory is about 1.1 million tires, and 70% of its production is exported abroad. The factory also provides 2,000 job opportunities.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly expressed his aspiration for the company to begin expanding its activity in the Egyptian market to include the manufacture of passenger car tires. Pointing out that there were meetings between the company and the Egyptian government, represented by the Ministries of Industry, Investment, and the Public Business Sector, regarding establishing a new factory to produce passenger car tires.
In turn, the team welcomed Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, with the delegation of the Chinese company, explaining that “Promiton Tire Egypt” It produces between 1.1 million and 1.2 million tires for heavy transport vehicles and engineering equipment. He added, “During a lengthy meeting with the officials of the Chinese company, we agreed to provide a new plot of land for the company on an area of 180,000 square meters, next to the company’s existing factory in Amriya, to establish the activity of manufacturing passenger car tires. We also agreed with the company to expand its business in order to double its current production.” Of heavy transport vehicle tires; This contributes to covering the entire local demand and directing the remaining percentage to export. He confirmed that all the necessary data had been provided to the company to help it study the project, saying: I stressed to the company president the importance of not prolonging the study of the two projects.

He added: Based on the information we obtained, our desire to expand Our activities in the Egyptian market… indicating that the position is very positive towards studying the establishment of a new factory for manufacturing angel car tires on a plot of land of 180 thousand square meters next to our current factory in Amriya.
He explained that the company’s next investment plan in Egypt is scheduled to be in two stages. The first phase will include doubling the production capacity of the existing heavy transport tire factory, while the second phase will include establishing a car tire manufacturing activity on the adjacent land with an area of 180 thousand square metres.

In the meantime, Omar Mohanna, President of Promiton Tire Egypt, explained: The company owns the Alexandria Tire Factory in Amreya, with a total area of 300,000 square meters and a production capacity of about 1.1 million tires for heavy transport vehicles during the year 2024.

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly said that he looks forward to the two projects being implemented in parallel, provided that the necessary support is provided. For the two projects, he directed the concerned authorities to facilitate all procedures that ensure the speedy implementation of the two projects.
