A man has had his head slashed with a machete during an attempted carjacking in St Kilda, Melbourne.
The horrific attack took place last night near the intersection of Barkly and Carlisle streets.
Two men approached the man, demanding he hand over his keys, before one of the offenders struck the man in the head with a machete.
He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police rushed to the scene but have been unable to find the offenders.
