Lyon vs Manchester United – Europa League: Live score, team news and updates as Red Devils equalise just before half-time after Andre Onana gaffe gifted French side lead… with Spurs also level after conceding first

What another great night of footie, eh?

On Tuesday, it was Arsenal who blew our socks off. Well, last night it was PSG, but this was a lot less of a shock. I’m pretty confident that Aston Villa didn’t expect to come top Paris and leave with a win; they knew they were in for a tough night this evening.

Well, a tough night is what they got.

Morgan Rogers did open the scoring for the Villans against the run of play after a lovely counter-attack, but it was all downhill from there. It didn’t take long for Desire Doue to equalise, and my word, what a goal it was. Doue did the Declan, just from open play.

Then it was Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s turn to do something special. Just minutes into the second half, he sent Axel Disasi for a hot dog before smashing in a second for the hosts.

The one-way traffic continued into stoppage time, but it seemed like Villa would escape with just the one-goal deficit, which would have been massive for them after the way the game had gone.

But they just couldn’t see it out until the final whistle as Nuno Mendes added a deserved third with just one minute left in injury time. It was brutal but brilliant. Now Aston Villa have a mountain to climb next week at Villa Park, so they better bring their harnesses.

Elsewhere, Barcelona demolished Borussia Dortmund 4-0 at home to practically seal their place in the semi-finals at the expense of last year’s finalists after just one leg.

Well, if you haven’t, then tough luck. It’s now time for us to tackle the Europa League action ahead of us tonight.
