Luke Littler produces incredible comeback after surviving three match darts to stun Rob Cross in Premier League thriller

Luke Littler battled back from the brink of defeat to beat Rob Cross in a classic contest in the Premier League on Thursday night.

Littler and Cross met in the first quarter-final of the evening in Glasgow, and it was the latter who quickly took the ascendancy.

The 2018 world champion raced into a 5-1 lead and looked set to progress to the semi-finals but missed a dart at double 20 to wrap up victory.

Back came Littler to reduce the deficit to 5-4, but Cross then left himself two darts at double 18 to get the job done.

However, both of his darts drifted the wrong side of the wire and Littler stepped in to nail double 10 and take the match to a deciding leg.

After surviving three match darts, the final leg was one-way traffic as Littler pulled clear of his rival before hitting double top to complete an incredible comeback.

The victory secured Littler’s first points of the Premier League season after he was beaten at the quarter-final stage by Michael van Gerwen in Belfast last week.

He will get the chance to exact revenge when he faces the Dutchman in the semi-finals later this evening after Van Gerwen breezed past Stephen Bunting in his own quarter-final.

Van Gerwen, who lost to Littler in last month’s World Championship final, looked in top form as he sealed a 6-1 win over the popular Liverpudlian.
