Luke Littler copies Didier Drogba’s iconic celebration after making flying start to World Darts Championship quarter-final against Nathan Aspinall
Luke Littler showed few signs of nerves as he flew out of the blocks in his World Championship quarter-final with Nathan Aspinall on Wednesday night.
The 17-year-old sensation – who is looking to become the youngest world champion in the sport’s history – took just 12 darts to win the opening leg and then swiftly broke Aspinall’s throw.
Within a matter of minutes, he was a set up without dropping a leg, and as he made his way off the stage and grinned at his family and friends before sticking his arms out the side as he copied the iconic celebration of former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
It is a celebration that Drogba made famous during his two spells at Stamford Bridge where he won four Premier League titles and the Champions League to earn legendary status.
Littler is well on his way to becoming a legend in his own sport as he continues to take the darting world by storm despite being 20 days away from his 18th birthday.
He made the final last year before losing to Luke Humphries, but is now the favourite to go one better this time.

Humphries was knocked out in the round of 16 by Peter Wright, who in turn was beaten by Stephen Bunting in the quarter-finals.
Littler is due to face Bunting in the semi-finals if he gets past Aspinall.
