London Metal Exchange bans display of Russian products

The press service of the London Metal Exchange (LME) reported that the exchange banned the laying of metals from the Russian Federation from warehouses in the United Kingdom.

The reason for this move was the decision of the country’s government to impose a tariff of 35% on the import of some Russian goods.

In a statement, the exchange stressed that metals held in UK deposits under current conditions could not be shipped elsewhere without a “significant financial cost” that could lead to a risk of a change in their value.

The ban included iron ore, copper, iron, aluminum, nickel, silver, steel and lead.
