A mass evacuation was ordered at a children’s hospital in California after reports of a ‘possible shooter,’ but after a massive police response, the medical center has been cleared.
The San Bernadino County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a ‘possible armed individual’ on Wednesday, however, after a thorough investigation the department issued an ‘all clear’ alert.
‘Loma Linda Hospital has been cleared. There are no reported injuries, and the incident appears to be a swatting call,’ the department posted around 11 pm EST.
‘The area will reopen shortly. Thank you for your patience and cooperation,’ the statement continued.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to the medical center on Wednesday evening following unconfirmed reports of ‘a man with a gun’.
The sheriff’s department released a statement via social media around 6:35pm (local time) advising an investigation is underway.
‘We are aware of a possible man with a gun at Loma Linda Hospital. We have deputies on the scene and are actively clearing the hospital,’ the department said in a statement.
‘Please share with your viewers to stay away from the area. We will post updates on our social media platforms.’
In an update, posted around 11 pm EST, the San Bernadino County Sheriff said they are ‘actively clearing’ the hospital, however, no shots have been heard and no injuries have been reported.
‘Law enforcement is actively clearing Loma Linda Hospital,’ the post on X reads.
‘At this time, no shots have been heard, and no one has been injured. Please avoid the area due to heavy law enforcement presence. Your safety is our priority.’
Deputies were on the scene and actively clearing the facility, officials said, KTLA reported.

The hospital issued an emergency alert warning, which advised people in the area to ‘run, hide, fight’.

ABC7 reports at least 200 officers have gathered at the scene from multiple agencies.
Law enforcement is reportedly patrolling the area above the medical center using helicopters.
