Alright, footy fans and music lovers, get ready to have your socks knocked off because the AFL has just dropped a banger of an announcement for the 2024 NAB AFLW Grand Final. Drum roll, please… Lime Cordiale is set to rock the Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment!
That’s right, the dynamic duo of Louis and Oli Leimbach will be bringing their addictive tunes to the biggest night in women’s footy.
Fresh off their latest album, Enough of the Sweet Talk, and a sold-out Australian tour, Lime Cordiale is ready to light up the stage. With accolades like the 2021 ARIA Award for Best Live Act, over 500 million streams on Spotify, and having just immaculate vibes all round, we are in for a treat!
AFLW General Manager Emma Moore was V excited about the performance: “The AFL is so excited to have Lime Cordiale perform as part of the NAB AFLW Grand Final festivities as we celebrate another incredible season of AFLW.” She noted that this year’s pre-game show is set to elevate the experience even further. Keen keen keen!
The Leimbach brothers are equally thrilled. “We’re so stoked to be turning it up under the lights at the AFL Women’s Grand Final. This event is so uniquely Aussie, and it gets bigger every year. Let’s go!!” Let’s go indeed lads.
It seems like the AFLW is looking to incorporate more performances from local artists within their game days. Telstra’s Head of Brand and Sponsorships, Alita McMenamin, shared her excitement: “We are delighted to be supporting the AFL and footy fans to bring home-grown talent to the big stage for the AFLW Grand Final.”
