Based on Al-Azhar’s global mission to spread and teach the Arabic language, and within the framework of efforts exerted to enhance the status of the Arabic language globally, Professor Dr. Nahla Al-Saidi, Advisor to the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Head of the Center for the Development of Education for Foreign and International Students, announced the launch of the project document for preparing the Al-Azhar Global Index. for the Arabic language, which is a pioneering educational and research project implemented by the Center for the Development of Education for Expatriate and Foreign Students at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.

Nahla Al-Saidi: The Al-Azhar International Index for the Arabic Language reflects Al-Azhar Al-Sharif’s keenness to provide its expertise to all institutions that teach the Arabic language inside and outside Egypt. To achieve a real global renaissance in the field of teaching the Arabic language, and to work to motivate institutions and scholars to adopt the best ways to improve the teaching of the Arabic language.
She added that the index aims to evaluate regional and international institutions for teaching the language. Arabic and its classification, and contribute to improving the ranking of these institutions globally and achieving the highest standards of quality and excellence.
The advisor to the Sheikh of Al-Azhar continued that the Al-Azhar International Index for the Arabic Language will study the evaluation of institutions teaching the Arabic language. From a standard perspective, in line with international standards, among the basic objectives of the index are: “preserving the Arab identity through education and scientific research, evaluating the performance of Arabic language teaching institutions and determining their positions in the global ranking, helping institutions aspiring to excellence and maintaining an advanced position in the classification.” Global, improving the standards of international classifications related to teaching the Arabic language, raising the competitiveness of educational services provided in institutions teaching the Arabic language.
The indicator will also contribute to providing a critical vision of the location of educational institutions. And creating a database for Al-Azhar scholars abroad, to be a link between Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and international institutions, allowing for the exchange of experiences and cooperation in various fields of scientific research. As for the educational aspect, the index contributes to enhancing internationalization as a main concept for developing educational institutions through cultural exchange and research participation. , which contributes to creating a competitive and attractive educational environment for students and faculty members from different cultures.
