The landing gear of a private jet owned by Motley Crue singer Vince Neil failed as it was landing, causing the crash that left one dead and three injured, officials revealed.
The 64-year-old rock star’s partner Rain Andreani, 43, and her friend Ashley survived the crash and were rushed to hospital in the wake of the tragedy on Monday.
The Dr. Feelgood singer was not a passenger at the time of the deadly incident in Scottsdale, Arizona, a spokesperson told Dailymail.com.
‘According to initial reports, the Learjet’s left main landing gear failed upon landing, leading to the collision,’ the City of Scottsdale said in a statement, adding that the fight was coming from Austin, Texas.
Andreani suffered five broken ribs and multiple pet dogs the women brought aboard the aircraft were safe, sources told the outlet.
The band confirmed the pilot was killed and they will be involved in the efforts to help the family.
Officials said a total of four people were on the Learjet plane owned by Neil -two pilots and two passengers. Meanwhile, there was one person was in the parked Gulfstream.
Four people were injured in the crash, with two taken to the hospital in critical condition and one registered as stable. One person reportedly refused medical treatment, per authorities.

‘Earlier today, a private plane owned by Vince Neil was involved in a crash near Scottsdale, AZ,’ the band said on social media. ‘The pilot was tragically killed; the co-pilot and other passengers were taken to local hospitals.
The group continued, ‘Vince was not on the plane. Vince’s girlfriend and her friend suffered injuries, albeit not life-threatening. While details are still emerging, our hearts go out to the families about the pilot who lost his life in the passengers who suffered injuries.’
‘Motley Crue will announce a way to help support the family of the deceased pilot -stand by for an announcement very soon.’
Neil’s lawyer said the musical artist’s ‘thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today,’
Worrick Robinson Law, the law firm representing the heavy metal singer, confirmed tragic details in the incident in a statement Monday evening.
‘At 2:39 p.m. local time, a Learjet aircraft Model 35A owned by Vince Neil was attempting to land at the Scottsdale Airport,’ the firm said.
‘For reasons unknown at this time, the plane veered from the runway causing it to collide with another parked plane.
‘On board Mr. Neil’s plane were two pilots and two passengers. Mr. Neil was not on the plane.

The firm said that ‘Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today.’
Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky said, ‘Today, Scottsdale sadly experienced an aircraft accident at our airport. Based on the information provided thus far, it appears at least one person is dead after two jets collided on the runway at Scottsdale Airport.
‘We are closely monitoring the situation, and we are in touch with airport, police and federal agencies and will update the community as we have further information.
‘On behalf of the city of Scottsdale, we offer our deepest condolences to those involved in the accident and for those who have been taken to our trauma center for treatment. We will keep all affected by this tragedy in our prayers.’
The aircraft that was struck in the deadly incident, a Gulfstream 200, is owned by the company WW Aviation Inc.; according to FlightAware, it had been sitting idle at the airport since January 31.
Scottsdale Airport is a common destination for jets arriving and departing into Phoenix, which is about 21 miles to the northeast. The air travel hub is particularly busy when large sports weekends are in progress, such as golf tournaments, the Super Bowl and local professional teams such as the NBA’s Phoenix Suns, MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks and NFL’s Arizona Cardinals.
