Mother monster and actor Lady Gaga is reportedly “disappointed” by the negative reviews that the Joker: Folie à Deux has copped following its official release last week.
After months of pap pics, trailers, teasers and press outfits, the highly-anticipated sequel to Todd Phillips‘ Joker has finally dropped. And with Lady Gaga taking on the role of Harleen Lee Quinzel (famously known as Harley Quinn), the movie was bound to be a hit with the singer’s fanbase and star power.
Unfortunately for the “Bad Romance” songstress, it appears that Joker: Folie à Deux has not sat well with audiences, despite receiving a standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival in September.

Following the influx of negative reviews from the public, an insider close to the singer claims her team is scrambling to “push out other projects” to help “move on” from the flop “as quickly as possible”. FKN YIKES.
“Gaga is surprised by the response to Joker 2 and is shocked that people don’t love it after the response it received from critics before it premiered,” an inside source told Daily Mail.
“She put so much heart into the movie and has so much respect for the DC comics fan base.”
To give you a quick insight into how Joker: Folie à Deux is being received, the sequel received a “D” CinemaScore, which is the lowest-ever received comic book movie. OUCH.
Although Mother Monster is said to be “disappointed” by her latest acting project, it has not deterred her from the craft. The insider went on to report that Gaga is looking towards a Quentin Tarantino flick.
“She thought that this film could get her an Oscar nomination, especially since the first film was such a success and Joaquin won an Oscar,” the source spilled.
“She would now like to land a role in Quentin Tarantino’s next and final film. Nobody knows what that is going to be, but she wants to audition.
“She’s going to lobby hard to get a meeting with him once a script is presented, it is a bucket list moment for her to be involved.”

As a long-time Lady Gaga stan, she honestly can’t do no wrong in my eyes. I’m sure one day, Joker: Folie à Deux will become one of those movies that grow a cult following like Morbius and Catwoman — which is unironically my favourite superhero movie for um… my awakening.
However, if Gaga is looking for another project, can she please bring the Chromatica ball to Sydney? THANKS.
