
EXCLUSIVE: Krysten Ritter has lined up a killer new role… literally. The Jessica Jones and Orphan Black: Echoes star has been tapped for a high-profile guest arc on Showtime’s new drama series Dexter: Resurrectionwhich chronicles a new chapter for Michael C. Hall’s series killer Dexter Morgan, sources tell Deadline.
Ritter will recur as Mia Lapierre, a renowned sommelier whose alter ego is the ‘Lady Vengeance’ serial killer, I hear.
The actress whipped fans into a frenzy with an IG story captioned “NYC bound baby,” which posted Thursday morning at around the same time as a Collider interview with Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane, in which he revealed that production on Season 2 of the Disney+ series will start tomorrow.

Coming on the heels of recent comments by Marvel Studios’ streaming and TV executive Brad Winderbaum that they were “exploring” bringing back other Defenders, including Krysten Ritter‘s Jessica Jones, to Disney+ the way Marvel did with Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Againfans made a leap. Speculation quickly started circulating on social media that Ritter would be reprising her Jessica Jones role in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again.
Ritter is indeed traveling to New York for a well known franchise series but it is Dexter: Resurrection,I hear.
The main cast of the Dexter followup, which has been filming in the Big Apple since last month, includes David Zayas, James Remar, Jack Alcott, Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusaand and Emilia Suárez.
Dexter: Resurrectionset for a summer launch on Paramount+ with Showtime, is executive produced by Clyde Phillips, who also returns to serve as showrunner. Hall also serves as executive producer along with Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns, with Marcos Siega serving as producing director. Monica Raymund is set to direct four episodes with Marcos Siega directing six episodes for the series. The series is produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Ritter most recently headlined the Orphan Black spinoff series Echoes for AMC and BBC America and was part of the main cast of Max’s limited series Love & Death. Her second novel, Retreatcomes out March 25. She is repped by CAA, Industry Entertainment and Brecheen Feldman Breimer Silver Thompson.
