Kind-hearted Vikings QB JJ McCarthy hands out pizzas to the homeless in Minnesota

Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy recently helped out the Minnesota community when he handed out pizzas to homeless people in a heartwarming scene.

McCarthy, who missed the entirety of his rookie season with a knee injury, was seen in a video with content creator Josh Liljenquist as the pair visited pizza shop OG Zaza.

After Josh asked the store to make as many pizzas as they could, they came back with 13 pies and offered a discount of about $50 dollars for the food.

McCarthy, though, seemingly insisted on paying full price.

‘I don’t think 150 bucks is gonna do that, not only because this amazing pizza that you make, but for the person you are,’ he said to shop owner Joshua Hedquist in the video.

‘And being able to hear your story, it’s truly inspiring, and you know, unsung hero number one that I’m looking at right here.’

McCarthy then shared a handshake with both Hedquist and Liljenquist before the video cuts to he and Liljenquist handing out pizzas.

The former Michigan passer could be seen grabbing pizzas out of a car in the clip, which drew proud reactions from Vikings fans.

‘JJ is the MAN,’ one wrote.

‘That’s my goat,’ another said on X.

Hedquist also appeared to enjoy meeting McCarthy, as he posted a picture with the quarterback and Liljenquist afterwards on Instagram.

In McCarthy’s absence, Sam Darnold had a career year for the Vikings and led the team to a 14-3 regular season record.

However, the former Jets draft pick badly struggled in a season-ending playoff loss to the Rams, and it’s unclear whether he will return to Minnesota.

McCarthy, meanwhile, was the 10th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft and is considered the team’s quarterback of the future.
