Khloe Kardashian sparks more plastic surgery rumors at Blue Origin space launch

Reality star Khloe Kardashian appeared at Monday’s Blue Origin launch to cheer on the all-female crew heading to the edge of Earth’s atmosphere, and fans were quick to speculate about possible plastic surgery.

The Kardashians star has long been rumored to undergo regular rounds of filler in her lips and her cheeks and went public about the latter after the removal of a tumor that left a noticeable indentation.

But her lips appeared especially plump on Monday, leading plastic surgeons to believe she recently underwent a fresh round of fillers and Botox (though she has previously admitted to trying Botox at least once).

Chris Bustamante, an aesthetic nurse practitioner based in New York City specializing in fillers, Botox, and other injectables, told DailyMail.com that ‘celebrities usually see the best in aesthetics. So, she’s likely treated with a multi-modality approach.

‘Meaning, Botox for the upper and lower face, global optimization with filler to enhance her profile and give her lips a little extra volume.’

Kardashian finally confessed to undergoing a nose job in 2021 after years of speculation from fans about her ever-evolving appearance.

She has attributed her wrinkle-free, pore-less visage to a combination of non-invasive treatments, skincare, and lifestyle habits rather than major surgical procedures.

With the exception of cheek filler after tumor removal surgery, she has never confirmed other procedures that fans have long suspected her of getting, including cheek implants, jawline and lip filler, a breast augmentation, and a Brazilian butt lift.

Dr David Shokrian, a prominent plastic surgeon in New York City, noted that she has likely had a more filler in her lip than usual. ‘Her upper lip appears a plumper’

Khloe Kardashian most likely also gets facials involving ‘lasers and [radio frequency] microneedling to keep her skin looking tight, clear, and smooth,’ Dr Bustamante added.

RF microneedling and laser therapies boost the production of wrinkle-obscuring collagen and improve skin texture and firmness.

Some have also posited that Kardashian has received regular injections of filler in her lips, which typically consists of hyaluronic acid.

Dr David Shokrian, a prominent plastic surgeon in New York City, told DailyMail.com: ‘I think she’s had a little more filler in her lip than usual. Her upper lip appears a plumper.’

Her lips first appeared larger in 2015, and fans often speculate that Kardashian is a frequent recipient of lip filler.

The reality star, though, insists that she overlines her lips with lipliner to make them appear fuller, echoing the response that her younger sister Kylie Jenner gave fans years ago.

Dr Diana Ponsky, a Cleveland, Ohio-based plastic surgeon, said: ‘Her lips appear enhanced—likely with filler, though it’s subtle and well done.

‘Her front teeth are more visible than usual, which could suggest an upper lip lift, but that’s speculative.’

Dr Ponsky added that her whole face, not just her upper lip, appears lifted, giving her a ‘sculpted and snatched’ jawline.

‘That could be her natural anatomy, or she may have had a mini lift or even a deep plane lower face and neck lift,’ she said.

A deep plane facelift is more advanced than a traditional facelift and involves lifting and repositioning deep layers of facial tissue. This method avoids the dreaded artificial pulled look of some traditional facelifts.

Dr Shokrian echoed that sentiment, adding that she likely underwent a facelift after losing weight, which typically leaves faces saggier and laxer than before: ‘I think what essentially happened is she lost all the weight and def needed to have skin pulled back and the underlying structures lifted.’

Kardashian is a fan of laser resurfacing treatments, which involve shooting the face with concentrated beams of light to remove the top layer of the skin, stimulating collagen production and improving the skin’s texture while reducing wrinkles.

She has also used microneedling to keep fine lines at bay. The non-invasive procedure uses tiny, sterile needles to create controlled micro-punctures in the skin to stimulate natural collagen and elastin production, which leaves her with a smoother, firmer complexion.

Dr Shokrian said: ‘A lot of times we combine both. We do a round of microneedling to start, and then we go over that with the low-intensity laser.

‘So used in conjunction it really helps do some wonders as well as the skin and pores and that kinds of things.’

And while Kardashian has shunned Botox – a neurotoxin that restricts muscle movement in the face – Dr Shokrian said this could have been a case of clever semantics.

He said: ‘While she maybe doesn’t use Botox, there’s like half a dozen other products that are all botulinum toxin derivatives. They’re not called Botox, which is patented and trademarked, but any kind of botulinum alternative, they’re all the same thing.

‘Nothing can replace Botox,’ he added. ‘Microneedling does not stop the muscle from moving. The laser doesn’t stop muscles from moving. Fillers do nothing to stop muscles from moving.’

Kardashian attended the launch with her mother Kris Jenner.

She told the Blue Origin media team: ‘It’s incredible. It takes your breath away. And I feel like I have all this adrenaline, and I’m just standing here.’
