Kawthar Mahmoud participates in developing a proposal for nursing’s participation in scientific research for the first time in Egypt
Dr. Kawthar Mahmoud, Head of the Nursing Syndicate, participated in a meeting with Dr. Sherif Wadih, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Review of Clinical Medical Research Ethics, and Dr. Ola Khairallah, Head of the Medical Professions Development Sector at the Ministry of Health, to discuss the proposal to form an institutional committee to review clinical research ethics. This is based on the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population.
Dr. Kawthar Mahmoud explained The committee to be formed will include representatives of the nursing staff from various sectors in Egypt, including the government and private sectors, the armed forces, and the police, to ensure comprehensive and effective participation from all parties.
She stressed that this proposal represents a qualitative step in supporting scientific research, as this will be the first time that nursing actively participates in scientific research at the state level, which contributes to strengthening the role of nursing as a major component in developing care.
She indicated that the formation of the committee came in response to the urgent need to raise the level of nursing cadres and research related to this vital field, with the aim of developing nursing performance in health facilities in various parts of the Republic.

She also pointed out that the proposal includes forming nursing research teams within all health facilities, with the team assuming responsibility for following up and conducting nursing research, stressing that this step will enhance Quality nursing performance contributes to achieving a comprehensive renaissance in the field of nursing scientific research.
