Karoline Leavitt’s warning to Democrats planning to derail Trump’s big speech with eggs and workers fired by DOGE

Donald Trump’s Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt warned Democrats planning to distract and provoke the president during his joint address to Congress this evening to think again.
Axios first reported that some Democratic lawmakers hatched plans to bring eggs, noisemakers and other knick-knacks to the Republican’s nationally televised speech.
Democrats also mentioned that they could leave the House chamber if they find Trump’s remarks particularly repugnant.
Liberal lawmakers have also considered bringing signs similar to ones Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., held up during Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech last year, which read ‘war criminal.’
Addressing the planned protests, and the report on Fox News Tuesday morning, Leavitt suggested Democrats take a different approach.
‘Frankly, the Democrats should think about if they should stand up in applause for some of the things President Trump will be talking about,’ she said.
‘He’s bringing common sense back to this country.’
‘Look at Democrats: yesterday, 45 Senate Dems voted against keeping men out of women’s sports. How can you be against that when 80% of the country is for it?’

All of Donald Trump’s addresses to Congress have been protested by Democrats. in 2017 – 2020, lawmakers wore matching colors to signify different sentiments, like women’s rights

Historically, Democrats have protested addresses given by Trump.
During his first joint speech to Congress in 2017, Democratic women wore white to signify the suffragist movement, as they perceived Trump would role back women’s rights.
The next year the liberal ladies wore black to show solidarity with the then-surging ‘Me Too’ movement.
In 2019 and 2020, they went back to white, to again celebrate suffragists.
Most notable of all the protests lawmakers made during a Trump speech before Congress was when former Speaker Nancy Pelosi tore a part a copy of the Republican’s speech after he concluded his State of the Union in 2020.
Her act of tearing apart Trump’s speech while standing right next to him quickly went viral.
Republican’s have also had outburst, like when South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson yelled out that Barack Obama was a liar in 2009. ‘You lie!’ could be heard in recordings of the speech.
Some lawmakers may just sit quietly and refuse to clap or stand—a tried and true method of expressing displeasure.

Leavitt dismissed the claims, stating Democrats should be thinking about ‘standing up in applause’ for some of what Trump will highlight to the American people

Some factions of the Democratic caucus are planning on wearing different colors to signify different causes, Axios reports.
The Democratic Women’s Caucus members are planning on wearing pink, while the Congressional Black Caucus is planning on wearing black.
Another contingent is planning on donning blue and yellow to express support for Ukraine and President Volodymyr Zelensky after Trump asked him to leave the White House last week.
Meanwhile, Leavitt told Fox News that Trump’s still interested in making a deal.
‘President Trump wants to make a deal,’ Leavitt said during her interview. ‘And unfortunately, it has appeared thus far that President Zelensky is unwilling to talk about a real peace agreement.’
Leavitt continued: ‘The president is a dealmaker and that’s what he wants to do. He wants this war to end. He wants to stop the killing. He wants to see a ceasefire, and he had an economic agreement on the table on a silver platter for President Zelensky to sign at the White House last Friday, which wouldn’t have just been an economic agreement.’
The press secretary reasoned that the deal would have been a ‘lifeline’ for Zelensky and Ukraine amid their three year war.
‘If you have American companies and American miners exploring for those rare earth minerals in Ukraine, that serves as an incredible deterrent to Putin into Russia.’
‘Unfortunately, that deal wasn’t signed because President Zelensky did not come into the Oval Office with the right mindset,’ Leavitt said.
