Kafr El-Sheikh Health Ministry celebrates the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

Dr. Mohamed Abu Al-Saad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Kafr El-Sheikh, confirmed that the anniversary of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women comes to emphasize the Egyptian state’s continued efforts to eliminate all forms of violence against women. Believing that national duty and responsibility before history require us to accelerate the pace of empowering women, preserving their rights, and placing them in a position that befits their value, abilities, and sacrifices throughout history, in conjunction with Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate’s celebrations of its National Day.

This community symposium took place at the Magnetic Resonance Center at the General Hospital in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, in celebration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which was designated by the United Nations General Assembly, under the directives of Major General Dr. Alaa Abdel Moati, Governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Abu Al-Saad, the Minister’s Secretary, and Dr. Samar Arif, Deputy Director of the Directorate, Dr. Muhammad Al-Aduli, Director General of Therapeutic Medicine in the Directorate, and Dr. Hazem Musa, Director of Family Planning. In the Directorate, Dr. Yara Fahmy, Director of the branch of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, Dr. Alaa Bassiouni, Director of the Technical Office in the Directorate, Dr. Rehab Sami, Director of the Health Culture Department in the Directorate and the teams accompanying them, Dr. Sarah Younes, Coordinator of the Initiative to Combat Violence against Women at the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Salah Badr, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments, and Pastor Mikhail Adel, member of the Egyptian Family House – representative of the church in Kafr El-Sheikh.

Dr. Salah Badr, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments, added that all religions and divine laws urged respect for women, their care, and granting them all their rights. They are the mother, sister, wife, and daughter, and they are the man’s partner in bearing the responsibilities of life. They are half of society and raise the other half.

Pastor Michael Adel, a member of the Egyptian Family House – representative of the church in Kafr El-Sheikh, confirmed that Egyptian women participated in various fields of political, social and economic life and sacrificed the most precious things they had for the sake of the security, elevation and stability of the homeland. He also stressed the role of the church in combating violence against women and maximizing their rights in society. The Christian religion completely rejects all forms of violence against women, whether this violence is physical, verbal or moral, and the Church also opposes any harmful practices that harm women.
