It appears that international pop sensation Justin Bieber has gone on a ‘yuge unfollowing (and possibly blocking) spree on Instagram, and one of the folks in his firing line was controversial music mogul Scooter Braun.
Lately, Bieber has been making bizarre social media moves in the last couple of weeks. Recently, it appears that the Purpose singer has cleared out his following list, deleting a bunch of notable figures who’ve been a part of his musical career.
Who did Justin Bieber unfollow on Instagram and why?
Scooter Braun
Ahhh, a name that seems to pop up almost every month, like a tired, old ex.
For folks who are not in the know, Scooter Braun was Justin’s former manager. Braun has been close with the Canadian singer, initially linking up in 2008 when he first made it into the limelight through his YouTube videos.
Braun is also the bloke who owns that master to Taylor Swift‘s hits, which caused her to re-record all of her back catalogue.
Rumours of a rift between the pair have been swirling for a while, with Billboard reporting that the “Baby” singer had been seeking ways to leave Braun’s management in 2023. However, due to contractual obligations, it appears that he won’t be parting ways with the mogul for a couple of years.
Alongside Bieber’s unfollowing, the singer’s wife Hailey Bieber has also seemingly unfollowed Braun on social media.
Following the alleged blocking and unfollowing, Braun has deactivated his Instagram account.
Allison Kaye
Allison Kaye is the President of Scouter Braun’s company, SB Projects and was the general manager for Bieber.
Kaye worked with Bieber for ages, managing from 2009, which marked his My World era.
Ryan Good
It also appears that JB has unfollowed his best man, Ryan Good, during his Instagram scrubbing spree.
Ryan Good not only played a pinnacle role in his wedding to Hailey Bieber but was also Bieber’s road manager and the former creative director of the singer’s fashion brand, Drew’s House.
Jason Paul Doughlas Boyd AKA Poo Bear
Jason Paul Doughlas — also known as Poo Bear — was also unfollowed by the “One Less Lonely Girl” singer during his social media cleanse.
Poo Bear has collaborated with Bieber and has been credited on a number of his albums, including Journals and Purpose.
Kenny Hamilton
According to Kenny Hamilton‘s biography on the CSH Group website, Hamilton has been working with both Biebs and Braun since the start of his music career in 2009.
“Kenny was responsible for handling talent travel and contracted obligations, as well as providing security and managing all of the security teams for travel and events,” the description reads.
As fans began to speculate why the singer nixed a bunch of people who’ve been a part of his team since the iconic swoopy-shaggy haircut, one brave soul decided to message Kenny regarding the unfollowing spree.
In response, Kenny said he “really [had] no idea” and that it “came out of nowhere”.
“I’ve been in my own world working and being a dad,” he responded.
“Wish him the best tho [sic]. Always will love and support him. He knows I’m always here whenever he needs or wants to talk.”

While we don’t have a concrete reason as to why Bieber decided to dump his team — especially folks who’ve seemingly been there since his big break — we do know that it came off the heels of a bizarre Instagram Story exchange between him and Hailey.
In December 2024, Bieber shared an Instagram Story to the song “B.E.D” by Jacquees. While the photo was just a dark selfie, it was the lyrics of the song that raised eyebrows.
“I know you wanna love / But I just wanna fuck / And girl, you know the deal / I gotta keep it real,” the song said.
Following that, Hailey seemingly fired back by reposting SZA and Kendrick Lamar‘s “30 for 30”, highlighting the lyrics: “But if it’s fuck me, then fuck you”.
But things all seemed to be resolved when the singer posted a photo of the Rhode Island founder wearing a Happy New Year headband, writing, “Um. Going anywhere with u bb [sic].”
If there are any breakups here, I think it’s Bieber and his management… allegedly.
