Jocelyn Grace Mollee identified as woman killed in Bruce Highway Horror

A woman killed in a fatal crash before a series of terrifying carjackings on the Sunshine Coast has been identified as Jocelyn Grace Mollee.

Jocelyn died after a horrific crash on the Bruce Highway when a diver in a red Porsche Macan allegedly struck the passenger side of the Nissan Micra she was travelling in.

‘She was a beautiful young woman, gentle soul, and a hard worker. She was going to be a pillar of society,’ her mum Amanda Chippendale told the Courier Mail.

‘She was smart, she was kind, she had a wicked sense of humour, a sense of adventure. She wanted to live life to the fullest.

‘She could make people talk and she could make people laugh. She had a love of books and loved nature.’

Following the crash, the driver of the Porsche, identified as Bradely Donald Towle, 41, then allegedly exited the car armed with a gun and shot the driver of a SsangYong Rexton who had stopped to offer assistance.

He was then accused of shooting the 62-year-old man in the arm after an altercation before stealing the Rexton.

The good Samaritan was taken to hospital, while his car was found crashed at nearby Landsborough about 20 minutes later.

The teenager and her parents ran from the vehicle and were not injured.

Towle was arrested at about 12.50pm on Monday at the intersection of Steve Irwin Way and Forestry Road on the Sunshine Coast, about 30 minutes after the fatal crash.

Towle sustained head and body injuries in the traffic incidents and was taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital on Tuesday where he remained under police guard.

The Tewantin man was charged with 15 offences.

‘Investigations are continuing with further charges likely,’ police said, urging anyone with information about the incidents to come forward.

Towle’s case was mentioned briefly in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The case was adjourned until Wednesday, with Towle set to be moved from the hospital to a police watchhouse.
