Alright, listen up, because our lord and saviour Jennifer Coolidge has some thoughts about her former TV hubby Greg (Jon Gries) popping up in The White Lotus Season 3, and honestly? We’re here for it.
Also yes, this article will have major spoilers, you’ve been warned.
The Emmy-winning icon, who absolutely slayed as Tanya in the first two seasons, is spilling the tea on what she reckons should happen to Greg now that he’s back on our screens. And let’s just say, she’s not exactly wishing him well.
In a chat with Forbes, Coolidge didn’t hold back, saying, “I hope he gets it! I hope they do something terrible to him.” Oof, tell us how you really feel, Jen!
For those who need a quick refresher (no judgement, we’ve all been binge-watching too many shows), Coolidge’s character Tanya met her untimely end in season two of The White Lotus after tumbling off a boat. Why? Because her dodgy husband Greg was apparently trying to off her for her cash. Not cool, Greg. Not cool at all. You literally turned the gays against her. HOW DARE YOU?
Now, in a plot twist that’s got us all shook, Greg’s back in Season 3, but he’s going by ‘Gary’ now. He’s living it up in Thailand with a new girlfriend played by Charlotte Le Bon and probably thinking he’s gotten away with his shenanigans.
But our girl Jennifer’s not buying it. She’s got a hunch that karma’s coming for Greg/Gary, saying, “My guess? Something’s going to go horribly wrong. I think it’s really going to go wrong.” And I’m thinking karma’s name is Belinda aka Natasha Rothwell, who was in season one with Greg and has returned to this season’s The White Lotus. My girlie will surely put the pieces together and take him down (or die trying RIP). In fact, we wrote a list of everyone we think might kick the can this season HERE.
When PEDESTRIAN.TV caught up with this season’s stars Jason Isaacs and Patrick Schwarzenegger before the show premiered, there were some cryptic hints dropped that maybe Jennifer may be having a moment in season three.
Patrick said, ““Jennifer Coolidge was always iconic and just a blast to watch.”
And when PEDESTRIAN.TV asked whether Patrick was sad Coolidge wouldn’t be coming back this season, he responded: “She might be coming back, who knows.” Don’t play with me Patrick!
Coolidge did unfortunately lowkey confirm that she wouldn’t be returning for the season when she admitted she’s “envious as hell” about this season to Forbes.
“Look, it’s not like I haven’t wished or whatever, but it isn’t happening. It doesn’t matter – they don’t need me. Mike White can tell a story better than anybody.”
Ugh, fine I guess I have to accept reality, but hey a girl can dream and we’re honestly living for her commentary from the sidelines.
In the mean time you can still see Ms Jennifer Coolidge in all her fabulousness in seasons one and two of The White Lotus on Binge. I’ll be having a rewatch as I manifest Greg’s downfall.
