Jared Kushner’s response when he’s asked if Ivanka Trump will join dad Donald’s campaign

Jared Kushner has revealed whether Ivanka Trump will be helping her father’s campaign for the presidential election with just five days to go before America votes.

Ivanka, 43, previously said that she was stepping back from her father’s political work to ‘prioritize my children and the private life we are creating as a family’, after skipping the launch of Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign.

But with less than a week to go, and polls showing the race is too close to call, she was asked whether she would join her father’s cause to bolster him at the eleventh hour.

The campaign has distanced themselves from comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s performance at the seminal Madison Square Garden rally on Sunday, after he mocked Puerto Rico as a ‘floating island of garbage’.

Some pundits have claimed the bad taste joke could hurt the Trump in the swing state of Pennsylvania, where almost 500,000 Puerto Ricans live.

However, Kushner said there was ‘zero’ chance she would be working to support her father in the lead up to the end of the campaign.

He told the New York Times that Ivanka ‘made the decision when she left Washington that she was closing that chapter of her life. And she’s been remarkably consistent.’

Kushner also appeared to suggest that his family’s material circumstances would change little whether Trump or Harris wins on November 5.

While ‘obviously the world is different for us over the next four years if her father is president,’ Mr. Kushner said, he didn’t see ‘a major shift in terms of what we prioritize.’

‘We’re rooting for him — obviously, we’re proud of him,’ he said. ‘But, you know, either way, our life will just continue to move forward.’

Ivanka was given two government jobs by her father after he won the 2016 election, working as an advisor and as the head of the recently-established Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurship.

She was not paid for her roles, nor was she given any benefits by the government.

Following her father’s loss to Joe Biden in 2020, she stepped back from politics and in November 2022, as her father officially announced his presidential campaign, said she wouldn’t be helping him.

She said at the time: ‘I love my father very much. This time around I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics.

‘While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena. I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and I will always be proud of many of our Administration’s accomplishments.’

Since then, she has largely kept herself out of the public eye.

Last week, she was seen keeping her head down in Florida instead of joining her father as he runs the home stretch of the election campaign.

While Donald Trump was running three hours late to a rally in Traverse City, Michigan, on Friday, she was on her way to synagogue with her family.

Ivanka, 42, was spotted walking with her husband Jared Kushner and their daughter Arabella Rose, 13, and son Joseph Frederick, 11, late on Friday afternoon.

They were on their way to a synagogue in Surfside, Miami, to celebrate the Jewish holiday Simchat Torah, which marks the conclusion of the annual cycle of public Torah readings.

The only appearance Ivanka made during the 2024 campaign was appearing on stage at the Republican National Convention with the rest of the family.

Her half-sister Tiffany Trump also shied away from the campaign, and Trump’s wife Melania made only occasional appearances.

By contrast, the men in the family, Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump, frequently attend and sometimes speak at rallies and regularly represent their father at events and defend him in the media and online.
