Jai Arrow had to be restrained during a shouting match with taunting Bulldogs fans in the final minutes of the Souths’ Good Friday defeat.
The South Sydney forward took exception to something a Canterbury fan had said in the stands behind the Rabbitohs’ interchange bench.
The Bulldogs were leading the bunnies 32-0 as the one-sided match at Accor Stadium drew to a close.
Souths officials could be seen holding Arrow back as he shouted angrily at the Dogs fan, who appeared to be trying to make amends while other crowd members booed.
Arrow was led away and two police officers were then spotted speaking to the fan, who didn’t appear to suffer any repercussions.
The star player later brushed off the incident.
‘Nothing to explain really,’ he told The Daily Telegraph.
‘Passion got the better of me. Nothing in it.’

Fellow Souths player Lewis Dodd said he was on the receiving end of some abuse as well, while he waited on the bench.
‘That is part of the game – there wasn’t any malice in it.
‘I would like to think if there was a Bulldogs player sitting in front of a Souths fan he would be doing the same thing.’
The match broke the record for a regular season crowd, with more than 65,000 fans watching on as the Bulldogs continued their undefeated streak.
