The final Commitment Ceremony for Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 has concluded and fans are shook by Jacqui Burfoot‘s shock decision. Honestly, I’m not surprised that she chose chaos above everything else.
This article contains Married At First Sight (MAFS) spoilers. It’s up to you if you wanna stay or leave.
Thought Ryan Donnelly (and Australia) was free from the dramatic clutches of Jacqui Burfoot? Well, you thought wrong.
To give you the TL;DR, Jacqui has chosen to stay in the experiment, despite Ryan expressing that he was done with the relationship during the Commitment Ceremony and the Dinner Party.
For those who haven’t been following along, Sunday, March 23, marked the final Commitment Ceremony of the MAFS season. However, prior to the ouch couch shenanigans, our cast had their second last Dinner Party.
During that Dinner Party, Ryan made it clear that he was not happy with his MAFS ‘wife’ due to their tumultuous Homestays Week (and honestly, the whole experiment).
Despite Ryan’s brutal confessional regarding his stance in their relationship, Jacqui decided to write ‘stay’ on her card.
But before the pair could make their final Commitment Ceremony decision, Ryan expressed his grievances with the relationship to the experts, claiming that he felt like he “hadn’t had a partner, but a critic”.
However, when Ryan said he felt like Jacqui “hadn’t accepted [him] as a person”, Jacqui began to giggle leaving her co-stars and the experts confused.

When Jacqui claimed she “compromised on everything” in her relationship with Ryan, John asked her for a list.
Jacqui’s compromises included:
- Sleeping times
- Cleanliness around the kitchen
- TV in the bedroom — which she described as a “massive compromise”.
But shortly after listing all the things she compromised, the 2025 bride burst into tears.

After copping a heated — and I mean HEATED — grilling from the experts, it was finally time for the pair to reveal what they wrote and BOOM! Ryan wrote ‘leave’ and Jacqui shook everyone with a ‘stay’.

Here’s what the internet had to say about Jacqui’s final Commitment Ceremony decision.

After she picked ‘stay’, John asked if their relationship was “worth fighting for”, to which Jacqui replied that Ryan was worth fighting for. However, Ryan and her co-starts (and myself) are calling bullshit.
Boy, oh boy. This is going to be an interesting Final Vows.
Married At First Sight returns tomorrow on Channel Nine and 9Now.
