The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is engaged in intense battles with members of the Hezbollah movement in southern Lebanon. This was announced by the Arabic-speaking spokesperson for the IDF, Avichai Adraee, on his social media account on platform X.
Adraee stated, “The fighting is fierce, during which Hezbollah forces are using the civilian environment and population as human shields for their attacks. For your personal safety, we ask that you refrain from traveling in vehicles from the north to areas south of the Litani River.”
Additionally, Sky News Arabia reported, citing sources, that the United States has reached out to the Lebanese army’s command to influence the government’s decision to agree to a ceasefire amid escalating conflict with Israel.
On the night of October 1, the Israel Defense Forces announced the beginning of limited ground raids in southern Lebanon against Hezbollah.
