Is The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives Season 2 Happening? We Just Copped An Exciting Update

Great news for fans of bonkers new reality show The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives — it looks like a second season is on the cards! No, really!

According to TMZ, the entire cast is expected to reunite for season two. Insider sources claim that the finer details are currently being sorted out by production with pre-production of the series already underway in Utah.

The exciting news still hasn’t been confirmed by Hulu just yet, but with multiple reputable publications including People and Deadline echoing the news, it seems pretty damn promising.

Following the first season, The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives seemed like an unlikely candidate for renewal — but not because it was a flop. The reality series was one of the biggest hits Hulu had seen all year.

The series follows a group of Utah-based Mormon mummy bloggers who found themselves at the centre of the “soft swinging” sex scandal on TikTok in 2022.

It all kicked off when vlogger Taylor Frankie Paul went live on TikTok to announce her divorce and casually told the audience that she and her husband Tate Paul were soft-swinging with other couples in their circle. In the show, she clarified that soft swinging meant that they smooched and did oral but certainly didn’t go “all the way”.

Who would’ve thought that a Mormon smooching scandal would take us to a full-on reality show?

The cast consists of the mothers of Morman #MomTok: Taylor Frankie Paul, Demi Engemann, Jennifer Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Mathews, and Whitney Leavitt.

As typical of most reality shows, some of the gals had beef and most of it revolved around Whitney.

After struggling to vibe out with the other gals of #MomTok, she ended up leaving the group. Plus, since the show aired, Witney has made it crystal clear that she hasn’t been entirely ~jazzed~ about her portrayal on the show.

Although Whitney was the catalyst to most of the drama, fans feel like it’s unlikely she’ll make a return.

What’s more, in the season one finale, Jessi Ngatikaura told Demi Engemann that Jennifer Affleck was finished with the #MomTok group after her med school under got butt-hurt over Jen being financially independent. Ick.

“Jen told me that she’s leaving MomTok because of Zac,” she said.

“He doesn’t want her associated with us. I am really sad that this is just a continuous pattern that’s not getting better.”

Although Jen told The Viall Files podcast on September 11 that she was still part of #MomTok, Jen and Zac have reportedly moved their family from Utah to New York. That’ll certainly make it a tad harder for the young mum to film season two, hey?

With the huge response to the show, fans are already begging, nay, pleading for another season. I’ll have my fingers and toes crossed that Whitney and Jennifer will be involved but if they’re not, I’m sure the production team can find some equally as batshit and compelling Mormon mums to fill their place.
