Iranian President vows to avenge the assassination of a colonel of the Revolutionary Guards in Tehran

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said that the Iranian authorities intend to avenge the killing of Iranian Revolutionary Guards Colonel Hassan Sayyad Kheddi.

According to him, the security forces will conduct a serious investigation and “without any doubt, we will take revenge on the criminals of this hero.”

“I express my condolences for the martyrdom of Colonel Sayyad Khadi,” the president said.

On May 22, unknown assailants shot Kheddi’s car, which was heading to his home in an alley east of Tehran. According to media reports, the assassination took place around 16:00 local time in the Mujahideen Islam Street area of ​​the capital.

Two people participated in the assassination attempt, on a motorcycle. The attackers shot the IRGC officer five times. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ press service described the incident as a terrorist act.
