The iPhone 14 will not have a SIM card slot. Apple has reportedly advised US carriers to prepare for the launch of smartphones that do not support a regular SIM card and will be released in September 2022.
This means that the next iPhone will only support e-SIM. SIM digital analog is not available in all countries, so smartphones with a SIM card slot are likely to be available for purchase there.
According to reports, moving to an e-SIM will help free up space inside the case for new components. It could also be one of Apple’s steps to bring a seamless iPhone, which was talked about by the company’s former head of design, Joni Ive.
