Internet can’t stop laughing at Jerry Jones as pic goes viral on X

NFL fans on social media cannot stop laughing at a seemingly inconspicuous photo of Jerry Jones that went viral over the weekend, after the longtime Dallas Cowboys owner was spotted at the annual league meetings held between team owners and commissioner Roger Goodell.

On Sunday, the 81-year-old Jones was pictured sitting on a chair with a notepad in Orlando, Florida, where this year’s meetings are being held, as he opened up on team quarterback Dak Prescott entering the last season of his four-year, $160million extension signed back in 2021.

‘I think there are handful or more of quarterbacks playing who haven’t won a Super Bowl that will win a Super Bowl,’ Jones said at first, via The Dallas Morning News’ David Moore.

‘I think Dak is one of them. I’m firm there. He’s one of the ones who can.’

But, despite stating his belief in Prescott, who has never led Dallas past the NFC divisional round since being drafted by the Cowboys in 2016, fans couldn’t help but notice Jones’ notes from the league’s annual meeting. It turns out that he scribbled nonsense after zooming in on his notepad.

‘The Dallas Cowboys will never win an NFC Championship trophy until Jerry Jones is gone,’ a user on X reacted.

‘Live look at Jerry working up Daks new contract,’ another person wrote.

‘Lmfao what is going on with his notepad?’ said someone else.

Last week, Prescott restructured his contract to lower his nearly $60M salary cap figure for 2024 and create $4M for Dallas under the cap. He agreed to add void years to his deal to allow the Cowboys to convert his $5M roster bonus to a signing bonus, according to ESPN, which removes $4M from the team’s 2024 cap.

At $55.45M, Prescott’s cap figure remains the second-highest in the NFL for 2024 behind Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson ($63.97M).
