Influencer who bragged about week full of first dates is stunned when plan backfires: ‘I’m so confused’

A TikToker who flaunted to her fans about having a week packed with first dates with potential lovers was left stunned when her plans backfired.

New York City-based influencer Isabelle Graff, 24, revealed to her nearly 560,000 followers that she had ‘never been asked on more dates’ than last weekend.

She said her calendar was marked with two dates for the upcoming week after her neighbor helped her sort through her Hinge profile and chat to hundreds of men.

‘I guess there was lowkey like 2,000 guys in my likes,’ Graff explained in her get-ready-with-me-styled TikTok. ‘I can’t believe it was that easy this whole time.’

‘I have therapy and dates this week,’ she added.

After her initial dating-themed TikTok, she asked her followers if it would be appropriate to invite her first dates to influencer PR events she had planned to attend across the city.

In another post, she detailed an elaborate plan to meet up with a guy she was texting. Her idea included lying about having an event, and waiting until the perfect moment to text him to come meet her.

Graff said, ‘I’m like laughing at myself because this is so weird, thank God he does not have TikTok.’

But in an ‘irritating’ update, the influencer revealed that her arrangements fell apart because a potential date found out about her TikTok dating mini-series.

After looking her up on social media and seeing her brag about her upcoming dates, the unnamed love interest backed out.

She explained how after posting the video about how she anticipated her date going, she went to a bar and was essentially stood-up.

Graff texted her date and he did not respond for two hours, she told her viewers.

The furious woman said: ‘I guess he didn’t realize the depth to which I do social media, because he had only followed me on Instagram.

‘I guess he downloaded TikTok and had a little look-sy.’

He told her that he was a ‘private’ person and did not like how open she was about her life – especially her dating life – on social media.

Graff went on a rant: ‘I’m just so irritated and honestly confused because I have so many friends that have aired out so much s*** on the internet and still have boyfriends and go on dates and s*** and talk about it and it’s never an issue.’

Graff said she has even been ‘dumped’ because of her social media presence in the past. But she has no plans of changing her habits for the sake of a date.

‘It’s just not worth it to me and I feel like a guy who’s confident in himself and the way that he treats women wouldn’t be so f****** weird about this.’

In her comment section, fans flocked to show their support of the disappointed TikToker.

One user wrote: ‘They’re intimidated by your success. Keep doing what you’re passionate about! The right one will encourage you in your journey.’

‘You don’t dim your light for any man ever,’ another added.

Another commenter shared some encouraging words: ‘Awwww you’re totally right. The right one it won’t matter. Keep your head up and thanks for choosing us.’

But not everyone was as understanding of Graff’s perspective.

One person wrote: ‘I don’t really understand why she is so pressed about this. Some (most) people don’t want to be broadcast all over the internet and have their private life out there.

‘He also probably saw the video she made earlier in the day about her weird date plan where she lied to him about being at an event when she was actually completely free and chose to text him last minute where to meet her with her roommate present for part of the date.’

Others commented that Graff’s approach was ‘immature.’

‘I swear she is 24 going on 13.’ one used wrote.

Another chimed in: ‘She’s basically pissed that other people have preferences and boundaries. Posting the intimate details of your life is the unusual thing, not being more private.’

Someone even praised the guy that almost went out with Graff for backing out: ‘This is actually so annoying. He made the right call!’
