Influencer, 21, who does dares for money dies on Boxing Day after being ‘paid £700 to down an entire bottle of whisky’
A young Thai influencer has died after accepting a dare to drink an entire bottle of whisky.
Thankam Kanthee, known online as ‘Bank Leicester’, was paid 30,000 Thai baht (or £700) to downing the 350ml bottle of booze.
The 21-year-old daredevil regularly took on challenges, including drinking hand sanitiser and wasabi in exchange for money for his family.
Kanthee reportedly vomited after drinking the large bottle at a birthday party.
Fellow partygoers were shown laughing with the influencer as he accepted the dare, before things took a terrible turn for the worst at around 3.40am local time on December 26, the Mirror reported.
The influencer became unconscious as a result of alcohol poisoning and was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Kanthee took on the challenge while out partying in the town of Chanthaburi in the east of Thailand.

An investigation into the cause of the influencer’s death by medical experts is ongoing.
In a statement, Chanthaburi Provincial Police said a suspect, Ekkachart “Em” Meephrom, had been charged with causing death through negligence.
The crime is punishable in Thailand’s penal code by a penalty of up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to 200,000 baht, or both.
Ekkachart handed himself in and admitted to the charges, the force said. He was refused bail by the local court and is being held in custody for at least 12 days amid ongoing inquiries.
The incident happened during a birthday party organised for Ekkachart’s mother on the night after Christmas Day.

Kanthee’s fans took to his social media channel to send their condolences.
One user wrote: ‘I feel sorry for you brother. The person who let you drink alcohol must be guilty forever.’
‘Rest in peace, Bank. I wish you get justice. At least there must be someone to take care of grandmother instead of you as you wanted. Rip’, wrote another fan.
Another said: ‘Rest in peace. Don’t worry about anything. Thank you for making me laugh and smile.’
