Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education, confirmed And scientific research, that the Egyptian state has paid great attention to establishing international university branches in the Arab Republic of Egypt, explaining that the internationalization of education is one of the important files emphasized by the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, and is in line with the principle of international reference that It is considered one of the most important principles of the strategy.
The minister explained that the goal of establishing branches of foreign universities in Egypt is to develop the quality of education while benefiting from foreign expertise, exchanging science and knowledge, and reducing opportunities for The expatriation of our students abroad, especially with giving them the opportunity to obtain a foreign education inside Egypt, as well as granting them international certificates from the mother university.
The minister pointed out that the establishment of foreign universities contributed to Attract students Arrivals from surrounding countries; To benefit from the availability of opportunities for foreign education, through these branches in the Arab Republic of Egypt, pointing out that the branches of foreign universities in Egypt are distinguished by offering many distinguished study programs that keep pace with scientific and technological changes and meet the needs of the labor market.
He pointed out The Minister pointed out that the culture of internationalization and the shift from the local and regional level to the global level has become an urgent necessity, so internationalization and the expansion of establishing branches of foreign universities in Egypt in order to compete globally has become one of the most important goals of the plan to develop the higher education system in Egypt.

Ayman Ashour pointed out that the Ministry has achieved various achievements in the field of internationalization of education during the past ten years, as the plan to complete the construction of branches of international universities in the New Administrative Capital was supported. Which in turn became a breakthrough in the world of artificial intelligence and technological development.
Dr. Ayman Ashour held a meeting with representatives of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Britain, and with the French ambassador to establish branches of French universities, as well as with the President of the Turkish Higher Education Council, in addition to Many representatives of prestigious international universities, including the Portuguese University of Aveiro, the British University of Essex, the British University of Aberdeen, the British University of Lancashire, and the British University of Exeter; To discuss mechanisms for establishing branches in Egypt, or cooperating with Egyptian universities and offering joint study programs, as well as exchanging experiences to benefit the development of the educational, academic and research system in Egypt.
The Ministry also obtained approval from the Council of Ministers for a law Organizing work in international branches of universities; This helped the students obtain the certificate of the mother university, and also allowed for the expansion of the establishment of branches of prestigious foreign universities in the New Administrative Capital.
The Ministry also achieved an achievement in the field of internationalization of education, as 9 branches of foreign universities were established in Egypt. As follows:
The International Knowledge Universities Foundation, which hosts a branch of the British University of Coventry, against which Presidential Decree No. 423 of 2019 was issued, in addition to establishing a university branch. Portuguese Nova, against which Republican Decree No. 330 of 2022 was issued.
The Global Foundation, which hosts the branch of the British University of Hertfordshire, was subject to Presidential Decree No. 561 of 2019.
“European Universities in Egypt” Foundation Which hosts a branch for each of the two universities (London and Central Lancashire), against which Republican Decree No. 86 of 2021 was issued.
The Canadian Universities Foundation in Egypt, which hosts the branch of the University of Prince Edward Island and the branch of Ryerson University, against which Presidential Decree No. 9 of 2019 was issued.
The Modern Group Foundation, which hosts the Russian Kazan University branch and the Russian University of St. Petersburg branch.
Egyptian educational institutions are also diverse, as there are universities that benefit from foreign expertise, including the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science. and Technology, the French National University, the ESLSKA University Branch, the German International University, and the Beirut Arab University Branch.
