Al-Azhar Mosque held a weekly meeting in sign language for people of determination who are deaf and dumb, under the title " “Rules of Purity”, and Dr. Mona Ashour, a preacher at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and a member of the Arab Organization for Sign Language Interpreters.

During the meeting, the preacher at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif explained that purity is a basic condition for the validity of many acts of worship, such as prayer, circumambulation, and reading the Qur’an. From the Qur’an, and Islam encouraged it, as God Almighty said: “Indeed, God loves those who repent.” He loves those who purify themselves.” And he, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Purity is half of faith.” (Narrated by Muslim). The preacher also addressed the concept of purity and its types: whether it is physical, such as ablution and washing, or moral, such as purifying the heart from sins. She focused on the importance of purity as a condition for performing prayer, citing the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, “No prayer is accepted without purification.” (Narrated by Muslim).

And I used Dr. Mona Ashour, sign language to explain the steps of ablution, starting with the intention, citing the hadith of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, “For every action there is an intention.” – Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim, explaining the importance of intention in purity and all acts of worship, then washing the limbs in order and moderation in the use of water.
