Impressive footage of Travis Kelce’s basketball days resurfaces after revealing his March Madness pick

A 50-second highlight video from Travis Kelce’s high school basketball career resurfaced amid the buzz around the NCAA Tournament.

Apart from his football prowess, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end played forward for the Cleveland Heights Tigers basketball team. He also reportedly considered playing both sports in college at the University of Cincinnati.

In the short clip from one of his high games, Kelce’s ability to drive to the basket, rebound, and pass was on full display.

Kelce was also seen shooting from three-point range and intercepting a pass to start a fast break.

The three-time Super Bowl winner’s basketball skills were recognized by coaches as he was close to going to West Virginia on a basketball scholarship before fully focusing on football.

Although his days on the hardwood are over, Kelce remains close to hoops as a fan. With the NCAA tournament in full swing, Kelce revealed his pick to come out of March Madness.

On the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, Kelce had plenty of praise for his upset pick in the west region: the 11-seeded Drake Bulldogs.

‘The West has one of my favorite teams in the NCAA right now and that’s Drake,’ the tight end said.

‘Drake University, they have a fun story. Their coach and four of their players are from Division II.

‘They got some guys that could play, although I think Missouri is a really good team, and that’s going to be a tough game for them,’ the 35-year-old said. ‘That’s my Cinderella team this year. I’m rooting for them.’

Drake successfully upset Mizzou to secure a date with Texas Tech, Patrick Mahomes’ college, in the Round of 32.
