A longtime emergency room nurse has revealed a long list of things that she would never do – as a lot of them can have fatal consequences.
The crucial information was shared on TikTok by Karlie Tooley, who works as a nurse in California and has been employed in the emergency room for over eight years.
Since the clip was posted this week, her viral video has already garnered the attention of over one million viewers.
The first thing on her list of things that she or her family would never do is ride a motorcycle, calling it a ‘hard and fast no.’
‘I don’t care how many classes you’ve taken, how good of a motorcycle driver, how aware you are,’ Tooley explained.
‘Motorcycle versus vehicle, high-speed collision, never good,’ she said simply.
Similarly, the nurse revealed that she would never put her feet up on the dashboard while she was riding in the passenger seat of a car.
‘Imagine your feet are up on the dashboard, the front of the vehicle impacts,’ she said, as she demonstrated what that would look like with her fingers, as they bent all the way back.

‘Your hips and your pelvis, disaster,’ she said as she made an explosion noise.
On that note, she also warned against driving anywhere when you have a full bladder.
‘If you have to pee before you get in your car to go anywhere, go pee,’ she said.
‘If you get in a car accident with a full bladder, and you perforate your bladder, no thank you,’ the nurse warned.
Next on her docket had to do with water safety, especially as it concerned young children.
She explained that she would never not have a gate around her pool.
‘This one speaks for itself,’ she admitted.
‘I quite literally cannot put into words the sound a mother makes when she has lost a child from drowning,’ the nurse shared.

On the same topic of child safety, she said that her children will always wear helmets while on a scooter or a bike.
‘I don’t care if they’re riding their bike down the street, if they’re rollerblading, if the other kids make fun of them, they will always have a helmet on, and they will protect their noggin,’ Tooley said.
And, last but not least, Tooley said that she would never have a chainsaw on a ladder.
‘This one may sound very specific, but you know how men are, they think they can just climb up, cut a tree, cut some branches, trim with a chainsaw,’ she explained.
However, things can take a turn.
‘That chainsaw can also swing, and accidentally bilaterally amputate two legs, I’ve seen it, we won’t be doing it,’ she concluded.
In the comments section of her video, many thanked her for the tips, and revealed they never knew some of this information.
‘This advice is so good! The bladder thing never knew this!!’ one person wrote.
Another agreed, ‘The bladder thing is so good to know!!’
‘My husband was hit by a car while on his bicycle. A helmet is the reason I’m not a widow right now,’ someone else shared.
