Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster have officially hard-launched their relationship. However, instead of posting a pic looking all loved up on Instagram, the blossoming couple took the tried-and-tested celebrity route by calling in the paps to take some “candid” pics. Well, that’s what it looks like, anyway.
Jackman and Foster were spotted on Wednesday (local time) walking down the street hand in hand as they headed out for dinner in Santa Monica, California. The photos were expertly captured by PEOPLE, which is arguably one of the most reputable entertainment publications on the internet.
You can check out the pics HERE and honestly, if these weren’t pre-arranged pap pics, I’d be getting in touch with the photographer to see if they do weddings because good lord the snaps are effortlessly adorable.
The hand-in-hand outing comes days after Jackman was spotted supporting Foster at the final two performances of her latest show Once Upon A Mattress.
The rumours that Jackman and Foster were more than just close friends began after they starred together in the 2022 Broadway revival of The Music Man. Insiders claimed that Jackman and Foster allegedly hooked up on set and that it was an open secret amongst the cast and crew.
According to sources speaking to Us Weekly, the alleged relationship was the reason that Jackman split with his wife of 27 years, Deborra Lee Furness in September 2023, and that Furness was “blindsided” by the divorce. Foster filed for divorce from her husband Ted Griffin in October 2024.
“Sutton and Hugh’s relationship is the reason Hugh and Deb for divorced,” the source claimed.
“A lot of people on Broadway knew, and we kept it quiet because both of them are so nice and great people. Everyone respected their privacy, but there was an affair and overlap.”
Despite the messy timeline, the insider says that the new couple are “really happy now”.
Jackson and Furness have two children together, Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19. The pair shared the news of their divorce to PEOPLE with a joint statement.
“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” it read.
“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.”
Foster has a daughter named Emily, seven, with Griffin.
