Huge update on Karl-Anthony Towns after influencer girlfriend sparked major fears over Knicks star’s health

Knicks nation is breathing a sigh of relief as New York star Karl-Anthony Towns is reportedly returning to the lineup against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night amid public fears over his health.

Towns missed Tuesday’s loss to the Golden State Warriors at Madison Square Garden due to ‘personal reasons.’ But the public was left fearing the worst after his model girlfriend wrote ‘F*** cancer’ on X.

It remains unclear why Towns missed Tuesday’s game, but he is not on the injury report, and according to the New York Post’s Stefan Bondy and SNY’s Ian Begley, he will suit up on Thursday in LA.

‘Good news but still hope everything is ok,’ one fan wrote on X.  

Woods lost her own father to cancer in 2017, but Tuesday’s cryptic remark on social media has yet to be explained.

In any case, actor Ben Stiller was among the New York faithful to share their consolations in response to her post. 

‘Agree,’ the die-hard Knicks fan wrote, adding several blue and orange heart emojis.

It’s been nearly five years since Towns’ mother died from complications of COVID-19. The University of Kentucky product has since revealed that six other family members died after contracting the virus.

He and Woods have reportedly been dating since March of 2020.

Tuesday’s game was the sixth game Towns has missed this season. New York is 3-3 in his absence.

After being traded to the Knicks from the Minnesota Timberwolves ahead of the 2024-25 campaign, the 27-year-old Towns is now averaging 24.5 points and 13.4 rebounds per game. 

In a boost for the Knicks, Mitchell Robinson is slowly starting to return to the lineup after easing back to the court from an ankle injury suffered in May.

Robinson finished with seven points and five rebounds in 15 minutes during Tuesday’s defeat to the Warriors.
